I hope I am chosen to attend a conference! I have been in love with the organization since I was introduced 3 years ago. I truly believe that our bodies are not given enough credit--we are more than capable of healing ourselves and wholesome, nutritious food should be our medicine! Love this site--I'm really glad that you're doing a giveaway so that I could stumble across it!!

I am so grateful to have discovered NOURISHING TRADITIONS cookbook and Weston A. Price! It has only been about 6 months but it has changed my family's life. I was so excited to see a conference in Buffalo, NY, right in my own backyard. I confess that one of the biggest draws for me would be the conference food. I would also love to meet other people living the Weston A. Price way!

I would be thrilled to be given the opportunity to attend the conference! I've been using Nourishing Traditions for several years and have made huge changes to the way my family eats. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning so many new things, especially about fermenting foods such as kefir, sauerkraut, pickles, kombucha, and more. This is a legacy I want to pass on to my children and grandchildren!

I think traditional cooking is the way to good health: mental, physical, emotional and probably even spiritual. I would love to attend the California conference as I need encouragement and living examples of how families live out traditional ways. I want to make this "our way" all the time.

I've been preparing as much food as I can the traditional way for about 2 years now. Had a 4th baby in that time frame so it's been a bit up and down for a while but happy to say I'm back on board for the most part. I truly enjoy cooking like this and love knowing my family is getting real food. Although I've learned so much from some amazing friends who are pros at this I have so much more to learn and love being surrounded by like minded people who are so knowledgeable about this way of living! I'd love to attend a conference! Thank you!

Since starting GAPS 3 months ago, I have seen great improvements in my health. Migraines much improved, and thyroid, bp, and cholesterol levels improved. Very glad I found this health help. Off 2 medications. I would love to go to the WAPF conference in Santa Clara this year to keep learning
I am unemployed so would love to win tickets.

It's pretty tough to say what my favorite thing about last year's conference was. It is no over exaggeration to say it was life changing.

The food was phenomenal. The speakers top-notch. The expo informative and fun. The fellowship wonderful. Such a positive experience.

Synthesizing the information presented helped me uncover and connect with some of my family's underlying blocks to optimal health. We are in charge of our health and that of our children. This conference and the work of the Foundation serves as a major guidepost when making decisions that safeguard our health -- our most valuable asset.

Thank you WAPF!

I'm sure I echo many others in saying that my foray into the Weston A. Price Foundation (Yolo County, CA Chapter) has changed my life, opened my eyes, blown my consciousness wide open and imbued me with the fervent desire to share this wisdom with as many people as possible! I would be SO, SO grateful for the opportunity to attend the Santa Clara conference, as I already applied for a scholarship and didn't receive one. I won't be able to manage the ticket price on my own, so seeing this giveaway opportunity made my heart leap! Thanks so much to Paul and Sarah!

Be Well,
Ellen

I would be thrilled to be able to attend this conference, since I credit the WAPF for changing my life!

Up until I started back to school, I was all set to go, but had to make a choice between the two and school won out. However, I will be there eventually! Thanks for the opportunity.

I'd LOVE to win the WAPF conference registration as I'm still fighting some annoyingly persistent fatigue issues. I'd like to learn more and share the info with friends and family who need to know how much what we eat impacts our health and well-bieng.

Great opportunity! I'd love to go to the conference in New York I started another thread asking how people switch to a real foods diet, and how they compare and find sources of local food in the process: https://permies.com/t/16597/food-medicine/Becoming-real-food-convert-finding I'm curious to hear about others' experiences!

I just want to remind everyone how the winner will be chosen. Ten posts are selected at random from the 'Food as Medicine' board, then the *best post* is selected from those ten. So the more you post, the better your chances of being chosen, but to win we're looking for great posts - an interesting question, or a thoughtful viewpoint, or sharing your knowledge. We want to make this a forum for people to learn and share!

Dear Sarah & Paul,
Thank you for this opportunity!
I hope to see you all in Santa Clara if my name is drawn, for I have yet to make it out to one! I've been involved with WAPF for 3 years now and have continued to research and read, I'm insatiable!
I have recently really taken interest in how insulin plays a significant role in overall health. Recently, I personally have been combining both a WAPF/primal/ low-carb diet, for maximum nutrient density and best physical response in the body. The results thus far are outstanding. Rarely hungry, much lower food bill, great digestion, lots of energy and those "aches and pains" that we all get as we age (i'm 28) are gone. I'm starting a nutritional therapy consulting business this fall (and will be attending the NTA training). I am so excited to encourage others to try things out and see what works form them in the context of WAPF/Primal/Low-Carb. Thoughts? Anyone else with a similar experience? Check out Peter Attia's site- www.eatingacademy.com
Cheers to good food and education!

I can’t wait to attend the Wise Traditions Conference this year. M Kat Andrews, author of Tending the Wild: Native American Knowledge and the Management of California’s Natural Resources, will be speaking on Sunday. I am so looking forward to hearing her as I love her book. Speaking next will be Anore Jones, who studied how the Inuit eat and how they traditionally preserved their food.

Shan Kendall and I are co-chapter leaders of the Gold Country chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation. As chapter leaders, we help people find locally-grown organic and biodynamic vegetables, fruits and grains; and milk products, butter, eggs, chicken and meat from pasture-fed animals. We also represent the Weston A Price Foundation at local fairs and conferences. Shan teaches cooking classes. Our chapter has monthly potluck dinners, tho’ in August every year we have a fun picnic in the park in Nevada City, CA. We also help people find health practitioners including MDs, DOs and dentists who share our philosophy of healing with food and herbs. At the 2011 convention, Shan and I were awarded 2011 Activist Awards. We were very surprised.

You can find a chapter near you here: http://www.westonaprice.org/local-chapters/find-local-chapter. Or you can start a chapter near you.

Check out the videos on the website: http://www.westonaprice.org/. You can take a beginner's tour too: http://www.westonaprice.org/about-the-foundation/beginner-tour

I have been a permaculture instructor, consultant and designer since 1987. When we put on Permaculture Design Courses, we serve the locally grown nutrient dense foods prepared by Shan Kendall from local farms using recipes from the cookbook Nourishing Traditions. We also discuss and show how to make fermented foods from the same cookbook as well as Bill Mollison’s The Permaculture Book of Ferment and Human Nutrition http://www.powells.com/biblio/9780908228065 Sandor Katz’s Wild Fermentation is a good resource too.

If you are teaching PDCs, consider supplying coconut oil, raw butter or other quality saturated fats for your students to add to tea and coffee to keep their brains functioning at a high level, or serve Lemon Balm tea Melissa officinalis for alertness (unless someone is taking Thyroid medication)

I'd love to attend a Weston A. Price Conference, but am unable to afford to go at this time. I've been attending a Nourishing Traditions Boot Camp this week an hour away from my home, and hope to one day soon start a WAPF chapter in my own town. I've already watched Sarah Pope's videos and subscribe to her blog, which is enlightening. (I'm a Sarah Pope Wannabe!) I know a conference experience will be beneficial in my quest for helping others in my town know how to eat traditionally for maximum health!

Looking forward to attending Santa Clara WAPF Conference. Nutrition and Behavior are very important topics with the disconnect in the medical fields to this relationship. As a medical professional I want to give hope to families who are affected by these "chronic conditions" by treating the underlying nutritional issues.

I don't remember how I first found out about Weston Price, but over the years I have adopted more and more of their wisdom. My health has improved dramatically. I have NO seasonal allergies. Allergy to dust? GONE. It's just amazing what quality food can do for your body. I preach this all the time now.... to those who want to know.. and to those who don't I try to gently nudge and be a role model, hoping my results speak more effectively than my words.
