Hi. I don't know exactly what happened. Not so long ago I had a message about a Freeby: I could watch a lecture of Helen Atthowe. So I did. Maybe I did push a button (on my screen) then.
The same lecture of Helen Atthowe was mentioned in a daily-ish a little later. I had a quick peek, but then saw it was the same I already watched.
Then, about a day later I got a message:
"You did it! You signed up for the hand made daily-ish emails from the permies.com community.

   Here's your first free item!
PDC evening presentation:  Helen Atthowe's recent projects
      https://permies.com/forums/freebie/show/15b0ytkx8 "

Very strange. I'm already subscribed to the daily-ish for many years. I am not aware of signing up for a second time.  So I reacted to that message. I do not need two daily-ishes ;-)
Thank you for answering me, who-ever you are, volunteer. You suggested I'd write a post here. So this is that post.
And btw, the lecture by Helen Atthowe is very interesting, but not needed to see it three times in a few days.

The message that you're subscribed to the dailyish is automated, and so when you get a freebie, you get the email. You don't end up with two dailyishes a day.

What we need to do is figure out how to program that message to ONLY go out to those that aren't already subscribed to the dailyish. Our programmer, though, has a lot on his list, so I don't know when he'll be able to do that.

For now, just ignore any Gir Bot emails about being subscribed when you're already subscribed. You can also go to your profile settings to make sure you're signed up to the the permies emails that you want.

I think something went out on the dailyish and week later something slightly different (but quite similar) went out on the monthlyish.
