Try this awesome sandwich:  Your favorite fresh whole-wheat bread, thickly sliced, slathered on one side with natural gritty peanut butter, homemade strawberry jam on the other slice, and slices of fresh ripe strawberries stuck on every millimeter of the jam side; carefully lower the peanut butter half down onto the strawberry half.  Enjoy!   We gave this to our starving veterinarian before she left on her way to her next client and she called back to tell us it was the best PBJ ever.  Simple and ...heaven.  bb in SE PA

That is the first I have heard of putting strawberries on a PBJ.

I grew up eating peanut butter and banana sandwiches.  Have you had one of those?  Like a PB without the J. (PBB - Peanut butter and banana)

Sounds great!! This spring I was putting up my first fence and steel shed and during that time, one of my friends who was helping out had this Amish-made peach and hot chili jam... that was also wonderful and memorable with natural pb on whole wheat.

I make whole wheat all natural pb and j with my homemade wild Maine Blueberry jam instead of jelly . I also take some of the jam, heat it up and mix it with Maine organic maple syrup for homemade blueberry syrup, which is also phenomenal with peanut butter on a sandwich. The maple syrup, fruit and peanut butter is an explosion of layers of flavor. Yum...

I hadn't considered putting fresh berries on pb&j, either. I'll have to try that next berry season. I like to sprinkle a little cinnamon or Chinese 5 spice powder on mine.

Every plan is a little cooler if you have a blimp. And a tiny ad.
