Hello!

I'm hoping to find someone (or a couple) with a yurt/tiny home/RV/dome/what-have-you to share, nurture, and homestead the land with me here. As a single woman, the skills most needed are the ones I don't have, such as tree cutting/wood splitting for heat, creating new spaces for campsites, anything involving heights (!), handy-person skills/building/carpentry, (hunting?...) plowing (snow) dealing with rodents, etc. but, after that, the usual homesteading skills.

At present, there are fruit trees, blueberries, raspberries, extensive veggie, flower & herb gardens, garlic beds, grapes, hoop-house, barn, bees, chickens, ducks, an old horse, and my two dogs on the land. I would like to add a mini-cow or two for milking and milk products. There are lots of wild mushrooms growing in the woods (I just picked some shaggy mane today!) which could be further cultivated.

My long-term vision is to create a sanctuary based on permie/regen practices as much as possible, where people can come to stay, connect with nature, themselves, others. I just completed a BioGeometry foundation class which I'd also love to incorporate into the mix. I've gained a bit of a prepper mentality over the past couple of years, so want to become as resilient as possible. I would love to go off-grid completely or as much as possible over time. I'm looking into grants, and in the process of creating vision/mission/plan document which I'm happy to share/add to when it's ready.

There are 3 existing dwellings on the property (a barn which is my home, a cottage which is currently an air b'n'b, and the main house which is currently rented). If you are interested in renting the main house (or some kind of arrangement) that could be an option but I'm dependent on the income from the main house & cottage to keep things afloat, so, unfortunately, can't offer a financial break at this time.

There are a few spots that could work for a tiny/yurt/dome/RV - some might need a bit of clearing, others not-so-much. One spot is very close to power (just run a cord) and we could look at installing a second, back-up well with hand-pump or solar if practical/possible. In other words, we can work out the details together.

Everything I have can be shared (tools, truck, wood, everything produced).

I'm pretty laid back, unvaccinated, open-minded, and disgusted by the insane tyrannical government overreach that's going on. I enjoy my privacy and respect the privacy of others, but also enjoy getting together.

You can view pics of the property on this linkMilanote Board.

Please reach out if you'd like to explore further!

Thank you, Thomas! Me too! I did have the property up for sale but had a big change of heart, and change of (relationship) circumstance so making the most of it here. Fingers crossed.
Warmly,
Lou

Hello! I am very interested in being a part of the vision that you've got for your land and think I've got a lot of the skills that would be helpful in this scenario. I worked for a tree service climbing trees for about 2 years so I am very comfortable with heights as well as cutting trees and chopping firewood. I also consider myself a very handy/ crafty person and have a lot of skills in woodworking and carpentry. I am happy to send pictures of things that I've built or been a part of. I would love the opportunity to build some camping/glamping setups/ cabins/ tiny homes. I haven't hunted in a while, but I grew up deer hunting and would be happy to brush up on those skills. I've never plowed snow before, but I am hopeful that I could figure it out. I've also got one summer season of farming experience on an organic farm in North Carolina.

Additionally I've got a partner, Jaymia, who is also very interested in homesteading and is very passionate about working with animals and mushroom cultivation. She's also very handy and enjoys interacting with all types of folks.

Hi there!

I'm really interested. My husband and I are trying to start our homesteading dream, ideally in Vermont, so this is practically kismet! He comes with carpentry skills and chicken experience; I come with lots of motivation to work hard and creative problem-solving skills. We have two dogs and a pigeon who deserve to run around and enjoy nature, not be cooped up in a house all day while we work to barely get by. Please let me know what other info I can provide!

McKenzie

Hi Lou, I have been looking to get out of the city. Grew up going to friends farm and loved it. Felt out of place all my life, missing country. I am 59 with 3grown children,6 grand children. I have done construction, remolding, all my life. I have almost every tool needed to build a house. My Dream is to build a cabin and homestead but haven't been able to find partner to give it a go. Would love to meet you and help you and your dream and start mine. Please contact me if still looking or interested in some help.  jamesstaudt@yahoo.com

Hi Lou. I wish I saw this sooner!
I do carpentry, repair, deep weatherization, solar, various mechanical/electrical and gardening. I have been looking to buy a property for the last couple years so I can stop wasting my hard earned money on rent. I spend most of my free time gardening and endless projects, like various art, or building and repairing anything that can be improved. I can't wait to have a homestead so I can finally have a workshop and do freelance work. I already do a lot on the weekends..

How close at you to the upper valley , or Canaan NH?
If you're in that region, we should meet! Not sure how I can send you a private msg to exchange contacts...

You can click on the envelope at the top (place mouse cursor or it and you will see "Purple Mooseages".) Just saying hi from across the river (stewartstown NH), I'm way too old, conservative, and yes Jesus freak. Just giving you a heads up on how to do it.
