I'm nowhere near ready to start work on anything, but let's say I could buy a plot of land somewhere in the PNW, and wanted to build a log cabin. Where would I even start? Are there any basic guides or breakdowns to even just get started into how much it would cost and how much work it would take?

this is my first post and I'm not sure if this is how it works, let me know if I didn't do it right or if there's somewhere better to post this.

Thanks in advance,
Sam

Hi Sam, you did it right :)

If you're building it yourself, I'm guessing the time/labor will be more of a factor than the cost of materials.  Depending on how fancy the cabin is...

I'd start by reading some books and watching youtube a lot to learn about making the type/size of cabin you want.  Then you'll have a much better feel for what's needed.

I believe most building projects take 2x the money and 3x the time you thought they'd take.
