OK - I'll admit it's hard for me to identify only 1 favorite VOC because we're surrounded by so many good contenders, but Hubby carried a small plate into where I was working that contained pieces cut from a *very* ripe mango and the smell alone enticed me to decide it was time to take a break and enjoy every morsel of it.

Theoretically, with a large enough, very well-designed greenhouse, I could grow Mango on my Island, but I doubt we get the heat and sun needed to make it as good as this one was. However, my son's girlfriend had to travel to the mainland and got some from an Indian grocer she had heard of as "little presents", and it was a lovely gift!

So what's your favorite VOC?

I only get one? … So many choices, but the winner for me is garlic, hands-down. Raw, sauteed, roasted — doesn’t matter, if there’s garlic, you know it’s going to be good!

Not sure if this is just one VOC...
Years ago I worked at a greenhouse that hybridized lilies and begonias. I'd put effort into getting there first in the morning, slip into the greenhouse, and drink my tea surrounded by the odor of lilies that had all night to fill the greenhouse with their heavenly smell, mixed with soil and my jasmine tea. After my tea I'd open it up for business   :D

If it needs to be just one VOC, dehydrating onions. OH MY.....

LOL! This reminds me of one such VOC John has a love/ hate relationship with: Charlie's dog food, dehydrating! With all the fruits veggies, meats, and garlic I put into it, it smells like a major feast cooking, and we've noticed an uptick in appetite, in both of us and both dogs, for the 2 days it's in the dehydrator, lol. (2 days, because I do it at a slightly lower temp, to keep it 'raw', but spread it thin, so it dries relatively quick, but for longer storage, I want it crispy-dry)

I have begun to write a book. I already have all the page numbers done! And one tiny ad:
