Today I hiked up to the Love Shack to get this progress pic for y'all. Here's where we ended yesterday. 😁 Looks pretty dang nice with that siding redone.

We mostly all worked in the shop getting other projects done today. Well, I plowed Base Camp, but after that I hopped into the shop to help Josiah install the new bearings for the saw mill.

Since I wasn't the one to remove and disassemble this, I was able to read through the manual to find orientation direction for one of them. The other was put on backwards, which I found out when I tried to install the belt gear - it wouldn't seat far enough back on the shaft. Easy fix.

Then I had to take the shaft key and use one of the anvils to tap it straight. That went quickly. There's a bit of slop with the current key when the gear is on the shaft, so we'll probably replace that soon as well.

Afterward, I got everything bolted down and aligned the blade with the riving knife. We'll get the belt installed on the gears then take her for a test run next week. We have a lot of lumber to create for all the projects around here.

Again I forgot to take a final photo of the sawmill assembly, but maybe I'll do that tomorrow for ya. πŸ€”πŸ˜

This morning was up and at 'em for Nest Labor in the FPH. I got the laundry room all squared away, then watered the plants in the Library and swept the floor while Chris helped dust it. It was nice and quiet in the Library, so that was a nice change of pace - calm - for such a bustling morning.

Afterward we went down to the Zeppelin (our little travel trailer) for some of our own nest labor. I got laundry started and eventually hung up. Chris helped me tear apart our bedding to find out it's been building up condensation under our mattress. We had to spray it down with citric acid to address the new mold growth (uggghhh) then give it a bit to dry before we came up with a solution. We were able to build a make-shift frame to sit over the ply underneath to give some sort of space for airflow.

Checking the status of the ply will be our weekly nesting in the Zeppelin to ensure it's getting enough circulation to avoid building up excessive condensation. TT's of this size aren't build for full time living in arctic temperatures like what it's seen lately. Luckily we're running an oil-filled radiator heater to keep it above freezing in there, but long term I'd like to put a tiny wood stove in there a la boatlife/tiny homes. That's a conversation for another time because it's gone over like a lead balloon every time I bring it up so far.. (but it would make my little heart sing to have a Cub wood stove
in there). That dry heat would help avoid condensation issues that are so prevalent in tiny homes, and I'd be able to heat up my morning tea water in there without having to use propane.

Anyways, hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend! Tomorrow we're all taking a field trip. You'll have to tune in again to see what kind of mischief our Booties get up to.

Jen, I just canceled the draw knife order that I sent your way as they sent me a message saying that the shipment appears to be lost.  Try, try again....I put in a replacement order.  Should be there this week.  Sorry for the delay!

Thank you for the package update! I really appreciate your dedication. Sometimes when they get lost, they'll show up weeks later. Fingers crossed. 😊  It's been so snowy I might have to dig out a tree so I can peel it.. πŸ˜‚

Most of us ventured over to Wallace, ID today for a tour of a museum of odds and ends and to learn to make chocolate. 😁🍫😍

A wonderful lady taught us about her organic chocolate making process, and four of us made about half a pound each.

I'd add more details, but we just got home and I'm falling asleep. Tomorrow, dear reader. 😊😴😴
