I've created a tabletop game called
Wordsmith, which features dice-throwing, word spelling, and a few surprises sprinkled in there. A recent guest at
Wheaton Labs suggested this might be worthwhile for the homeschooling crowd to use for vocabulary activities, so I wanted to post it here for everyone to have a look at.
This is a print-and-play game. All you need is a way to print out the game sheets, a pair of six-sided dice, and a pencil and eraser.
Personally I like using laminated sheets and dry-erase markers (like in the above photo), so I don't have to constantly print out new sheets. A pencil and eraser will work fine, though.
You can download a PDF of the instructions at this link.
The Letter Grid is required for play, and there's a PDF of it available at this link.
Each player will need one score sheet of their own. Two score sheets on a single page are available as a PDF at this link.
If you can de-compress ZIP archive files, all the sheets required for play are available as PDFs at this link.
A graphics upgrade is in the works, and I'll be charging a fee for that one. However, this version is functionally the same. The new one will just look much nicer.
Please post any questions, feedback, critique, comments, etc. in this thread.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy...!
