I just started needle felting and made a few Xmas ornaments as gifts and for us. The bright colors really lend themselves to these sorts of decorations and it’ll be fun to fill out the tree with something handmade. The technique is really easy, highly recommend for anyone who wants a simple craft to try. The snowflake was made using a cookie cutter — just put the wool inside it and felted it there.

Those look great Jessica! I could imagine that you could quite well make hanging decorations too by threading yarn through the ornament. Thinks - doves, little bags, multicoloured baubles....Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Nancy! Christmas was a blur so I'm just getting back to checking the boards now as we're planning for spring gardens, but I did end up using some lightweight linen thread to hang them. If the thread is thin enough you can stuff the knot into the felt itself, which gives it a nice super clean look.

My favorite ended up being this larger ornament of a mitten. It was really fun to make these all through December, it's a tradition I hope to continue next year as well.
