There are many wonderful threads about what permies build, bake, make and/or harvest for others. When asked what they want, permies often say, “I have everything I need thank you very much.”
But seriously, did you give yourself something special? Please share.

Me? I splurged on a small recliner. Great hardware, easy to reupholster, but most importantly, a little thank you to myself for a lot of hard work.

I got myself a clip-on rechargeable book light.

My wife and I have taken up reading beside another in the evenings as she participates in a book club and I am checking off reviewing books on the Official Permies Book Review Grid. I have developed a small stack and this will allow me to read longer when it gets dark. A small gift that allows me to further enjoy a good hobby.

I just keep buying myself seeds.  Today I got myself some perennial escarole seeds.  It might be too cold for them to survive winters here, but I like rolling my zone pushing dice!
For lunch I made a pasta, escarole, white beans, garlic, parmesan and olive oil dish.  It made me realize that I really need to grow escarole.  So, so good.

I bought the parts for my drip irrigation system. Good investment but felt like a splurge!

Gift to self: a quiet lazy day. A long guilt-free nap in the afternoon.

We did as well!

My wife and I no longer do the gift at Christmas thing. Generally throughout the year if we need or want something, we just buy it. That kind of makes it hard to get something for each other. But now, we just get something for us.

This year we bought one of those double, oversized chairs. They are twice as wide, and twice as deep so two people can both recline and sleep on it at the same time. While we were in the furniture store we also found a bed that matched our Victorian House, so we bought that as well.

Bought myself an upgraded membership on a chess site.   Which reminds me, it is time for me to purchase some Pie.  It is my way of supporting this site, and it costs about as much as a magazine subscription. And, I certainly get more use out if this site than I have any magazine.

This is my favorite show. And this is my favorite tiny ad:
