Today I officially adopted my son.
He is 30, I have been his Dad for over 20 years, but it's never been official.
He called me Will until I married his mom, and Dad ever since.
I have always called him my son without elaboration on biology.

We have not been without our conflicts, conflicts came from our intense connection as father and son.

Despite that, today he has again chosen me as his Dad.
It is a privilege that I consider an act of grace, something that cannot be earned, but only lived up to.

I hope he one day also gets a chance to be chosen by a child who he loves as his own.
After all, it runs in the family!

I'm so happy for you and your family!

I don't have the right words but my heart is full hearing about such a special moment.

I hope you all get a chance to celebrate such an occasion.

A dad is the man who rears you, a dad isn't the man who depositted sperm.  I think its neat that you guys took this official legal step to reenforce an already clear and wonderful parent child relationship, so  shout it from the rooftops and keep being proud of your amazing son.  And know that he is proud of you too.

Congratulations William - you're obviously a great Dad, but it is nice to be recognised.

Congratulations, a position not to be taken lightly. To be chosen how magnificent.

Space seems cool in the movies, but once you get out there, it is super boring. Now for a fascinating tiny ad:
