I have all the tools to create round wood furniture.

I would very much like to see projects get started in this space.

Paul, I'm unclear whether you are inviting people to post here about their roundwood furniture projects, or if you are saying that you would like someone on your farm building such furniture.

Of course, it's not necessarily exclusive and you may intend both

I think Paul was just making a statement. Sort of like; I have the tools, I have the wood, I need someone building furniture! . Sorry, but there's still a lack of clarity.

"this space" is ambiguous - sorry to be thick, but I am still not clear whether this is an invitation for us to talk about our roundwood furniture projects in this thread, or if Paul is asking for someone to come out to The Farm and make furniture with those tools Paul has.

The first one I can help with, the other, not so much

The day Paul posted this thread, he posted several others. They all were ideas or projects he would like to see being done right now on his farm. Your ideas and pictures would fit better in the thread I posted above. Or you could always start a new thread in the round wood and timber framing forum. I personal would love to see your work posted over there.

I bought the tools to make roundwood furniture and I watched dvds on making roundwood furniture. And I started drying a lot of wood with the idea of making roundwood furniture and then I divorced that land.

So, now I am back on land and I have the tools .... and I am doing computer stuff 16 hours a day.

I would think that somebody would like to give it a try. And I would like to see that.

This is the chair I sit in every day as I type to you fine people. I did not make it but I have been thinking about trying to duplicate it as I have a good amount of ceder bows to choose from and I am fairly sure I can find enough strait sections. It appears to me as if one could recreate this pattern using primarily an auger drill, a hatchet, and a draw knife. I think for the seat I would try to split rounds and plain them because I do not have a band or table saw. I'd love to make a twin chair for this one this winter.

Edit: Eek! I just read through the entirity of the thread. I had taken 'In this space' to mean 'on this thread' sorry to jump in on your farm!

Yeah. Is it an over supply of things to do or an insufficiency of hours in the day ?

I putter about with doing green wood working and round wood stuff, but I also have insufficient hours. And am not in a position to come work at your Project.

It's enjoyable stuff to do, especially working with hand tools. Quiet, relaxing.

Nice chair! Lots of people used to be able to do that, I bet. Guess they had to.
