Note: Please move this post or delete it all together if it's in the wrong place or entirely inappropriate, there will be zero hard feelings on my side!)

It suddenly occurred to me while I was planting potatoes in the garden this afternoon that maybe someone on permies would be willing to assist me with a little problem.

I'm finally at the point with my cookbook (which is also a guidebook to an old radio show) where I'm getting feedback from readers on the intro and on the guidebook part, but I haven't yet found anyone who's willing to review the actual recipe parts.

I don't need the recipes to be tested, as I've already done that and feel okay that they should more or less work - unless I've accidentally got typos or missing ingredients in the ingredients list, or I've forgotten to write down a step in the methods section, or something of that nature, because I've stared at these recipes about ten million times at this point and am no longer capable of actually reading what is actually there.

So I need someone who has a working knowledge of cooking, who can look the recipes over, and say "yes, this seems to make sense" or "no, there is something clearly wrong with this one, maybe you forgot X"

Ideally within the next month or so.

Are you that someone who can help? I have about seventy recipes. I can barely pay anything in exchange, as this is an extremely niche-hobby project-book which will be lucky to sell ten copies, but I will certainly give you credit in the thank you section, and  I'd send you a free copy of it all once it's published. I might be able to make a (very small) token payment as well. If you're willing to help me out, please let me know!

Why not post them here on the forum so all readers can point out anything that doesn't make sense or seems wrong?

When Kate Was working on her cookbook she did just that same thing.

I'd be willing to help (I'm a professional editor as well as a cook) but I agree with Anne, I think the best you can do is get a lot of eyeballs on your recipes, and putting them here is a great way to do that.
After all, it sounds like a niche, funky project and where else are you going to find people who are interested in niche, funky projects the way Permies are?

I would gladly assist in "proof"-reading your recipes. An avid cook and would be writer myself.

I would be happy to help as well if you need anyone else! Sounds like fun, I love cooking and proof reading and I'm very interested to see what a radio show cookbook is all about

Thank you everyone! I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with the enthusiastic replies! I hope I'll be able to get back to you in the next couple of days, I need a minute to contemplate!

Don't panic, Vera!
No worry, no pressure.
No foul/no harm/ no hurt feelings if you are not quite ready or don't pick any particular person.
Make this a no pressure, happy thing!

There are 'private forums' that might be more comfortable for releasing pages of a book but I don't know if only staff can start one?
Then you could invite whomever to edit and proof more privately before releasing to the world
