I just got a call from a friend who is about 30 miles from me. Anyway, his mother is near death, and he has been going through her stuff.  He just found a half empty glass bottle of DDT.  What does he do with it?

Many cities have a recycling or hazmat disposal dropoff for free.  Things like batteries, light bulbs, chemicals... I would start there as they would likely have a system in place to keep ick out of the soil and water table. If not, they probably know somewhere.

I'd take it to the county solid waste transfer station. They have a facility like R's described above.

I will begin making phone calls. I am from a tiny county of 8000, but the person who called me is from one much larger.

Doug's evil twin says "sell it on ebay! Vintage DDT!"

Nah, don't do that.

According to this ad, you should be able to find a lot of uses for it.
