This is a super general question but I hope we get a bunch of responses.

What do you feed your dog? Do you sneak some people food to them? Is your dog a pet or a working animal?

Essentially, I want to see what Permie people do and if there are any trends that might not be expected happening.

Thank you in advance!

I'll go first.

I currently feed my dogs Tractor Supply 4-Health brand dog kibble. From my understanding, it is a decent mass produced kibble with comparatively good ingredients to other brands. My dogs free-feed kibble and maintain good weight.

I provide cow/pig ears, wolffish jerky, and some 'people food' as treats.

i feed my dog (house pet) a locally produced anti-allergy kibble (no chicken, which seems to aggravate his skin. used to be made of lamb and rice, lately switched and now is salmon and rice).
He gets treats for training. They are basically just industrial cookies made of flour and milk, or if i feel rich he gets ones made of salmon and quinoa. If he's doing something really challenging he gets the ones that are 100% freeze dried beef liver (and cost an arm and a leg).

He also gets the occasional pig bone or cow ear and licks most of our pots clean. Sometimes a bone with peanut butter but he's not a big fan of PB like my other dogs were.

He has the supermodel metabolism but eats like a starving boy. If I let him free feed he'd definitely eat the entire sack (and probably die from bloat). He's constantly cruising for food all the time, and keeps my floors 100% crumb-free at all times.

John feeds Bailey science diet.

I feed my two homemade, 99% of the time, raw. Their dinner is essentially a loaf:
If I'm buying the meats, I shoot for 90/10 ground beef, plus liver and whatever other organs I can find - gizzard, brain, heat, kidneys, etc., 85% muscle meat: 15% organs. The raw meat is combined with blueberries, cranberries, pumpkin, psyllium husk, powdered egg shells from our own chicken's & duck's eggs, powdered hawthorn berries, a tiny amount of garlic, a variety of gently cooked veggies, beef gelatin, and sometimes bananas. Whenever possible, I switch as much of the meat as I can to game meats or what has been raised locally.

Breakfast is raw eggs from our birds, a multi supplement, and about 1 tablespoon raw organic coconut oil, melted and shaped in a 'paws' mold, for my ease of prep.

I make the treats for all three dogs, and they are made with eggs, parsley, pumpkin, and either coconut flour or oat flour to make a pancake-like consistency. I use small bone shaped molds for regular treats and tiny dot molds for training treats. Sometimes, I'll throw in some mint.

In the winter, I'll add a little ginger to their food &/or treats for warmth. Charlie also gets turmeric and black pepper, for her joints, because she has a luxating patella.

They sometimes get a nibble from my plate.

We got our 2 dogs from the local shelter. One is 15 pounds and the other is 60 pounds.

Part of what we feed them is 6 eggs per day. This a great way for our younger children to gain confidence and skill in cooking breakfast. The dogs have never complained.

It is also a way to feed our dogs good food and use eggs.

I suggest huckleberry pie. But the only thing on the gluten free menu is this tiny ad:
