Oops, I guess I can take all the flags off the other thread that is talking about this same issue, then.

But there is something else odd happening...

When I log in, normally I will end up back at the page I was before logging in with all the signs of a logged in session (quote is there etc.) now I do go back to the same page, but have to reload the page before it shows logged in. Also, if I compose a message, normally after I submit it, I end up at the end of the messages with my message showing. But now I end up at the top of the page, not logged in, and without my message showing until I reload.

Edit... Ga!! just worked fine with this messsage.

Then it didn't with the edit. I had to reload for my edit to show up. Then after the edit showed up I wanted to edit again to say what I am saying here and the edit page showed up without my first edit.

Sounds like your browser is reloading the 'previous page' from its cache, rather than being forced to load the 'new page'. My browser (Firefox) has been doing this a lot lately. I need to force a refresh frequently (<Ctrl><Shift><r>), and/or go in to my browser and clear my cache periodically.

Len,

Can you start a new thread talking about the new problem?

I am thinking it is this browser. I thought it couldn't be because I wasn't having the problem before, but I realize this computer (my wife's) has an older version of browser and libs etc. My computer is using a beta version rather than release, which works. This is rekonq BTW. From 13.10, I'm using the 14.04 version, which works fine, on the other machine. I have noticed the same issues on other web sites too with this version browser.

I started using rekonq because it shows the right dates and all the links. My version of firefox shows wrong dates on this site (java script bug I would guess). Opera and others show the dates correctly but do not seem to show the latest message as a link.

So I think problem solved.

There is something about tinkering with the popover stuff that breaks this.

It wasn't working for me.

And when I looked at where that is configured, it was "wrong" again. I set it right. Please reply to this so I get a new email sample.
