Great. So far that is 4 total (one pm). Since i am in the waay north and we have one in bham...maybe we can meet in between. I know a couple of places out in cullman that are pretty good lunch spots if that sounds like a decent mid point for everyone.
My husband and I live outside of Blountsville and are interested in meeting everyone on Saturday. We wanted to offer to meet at our place with folks bringing a sack lunch. Our place is kinda interesting. We live out in the country and have been doing "editable landscaping" for many years. We live simple in a modified Yurt with solar panels generating all of our electricity and solar hot water. Coming here is just an idea. Otherwise, we are happy to meet in Cullman.
Martha where do you live? I chose cullman because it is a midpoint for several people. Also if those who want to come pm me their phone numbers I will give you a call on sat.
We live just outside of Blountsville at Common Ground Community. Yes, Cullman would be closer for you and the person from Jasper. It's 1 hour north of Birmingham up Hwy 79, and almost 2 hours to Florence. We are fine with meeting for lunch in Cullman, just thought it might be nice to be outside and in the environment.
enjoy!
Martha
Martha, I love your idea. I think, this (rumors) will give us a chance to meet everyone, so you dont have a bunch of permie goofballs, running around your place. However, i think on sautday we should talk about planning another outing...and since your apt to volunteer (martha), maybe we can head to your place.
till then lets all try to meet at rumors at 11:00.
Stephen and I enjoyed meeting Jay and Jason a few weeks ago. Been busy with new job and getting garden prepped for Spring, but looking forward to hooking up again. Nice to meet others with these interests.
I've been collecting emails of folks in Alabama that are interested in Permaculture. I'd love to come to the next meet up and chat with anyone interested in a Permaculture convergence! I run www.alabamapermaculturenetwork.org and www.facebook.com/alabamapermaculturenetwork
I'm a pretty chill guy, just looking to network with other like-minded individuals.
Sounds like its time to schedule another meetup. What days are best for everyone? Please list 2 if you can. I am free most anyday weekend and during the week..besides sunday. My preference is a weekday so please mention your location and willingness to travel. Lastly mention your prefence for a lunch establishment or should we head to someones place?
Check out that link above aaron. it is the facebook page we have been using. I am hoping to get some peeps together. so lets do a quick roll call on those interested, and give me your locations.
I believe we may have met a while back, at one of Cliff Davis's classes in Huntsville. I live just down the road from you in Cotaco. I'd like to get together sometime, you can email me at davempitman@gmail(dot)com.

I will be visiting Collinsville to start setting up "base camp" for a longer term project on my mothers' property.
Over time, the visits will get longer, and likely be seasonal. I have some long term hopes and dreams for this beautiful location, and the voices of some folks who live there, rather than having visited there some summers as a kid, would be incredibly helpful.
