Are you tired of working with dull tools? I have been making and sharpening knives for several years and

I am working on producing a video on how to sharpen knives, where

-I will cover the basics of sharpening knives and other tools
-low cost how to begin sharpening for under 10 dollars
-Knife care and maintenance
-how to start your own sharpening service
-and much more

Here is a link to the Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1673016761/instructional-sharpening-video[/color]

Thank You! I was in the same boat years ago, I believe after watching my video you will be able to get shaving results with in minutes. And Shaving is only the beginning of sharp, I don't consider anything that will not shave sharp myself.

Good to hear from you Patrick! I am a fan of you interviews with Jack Spirko. I regret not getting in on the founder deal, but it sold out so quick!

I have an army pilot survival knife that I bought and carried while in the army 20+ years ago. Man I used and abused that thing... Now I use it around the farm. The blade has some rust from storage. I hit it with oil and steel wool and got some of it off. It's still fully functional but just has a well used look.

I look forward to really putting an edge on it.

Mark, Thank You! Yeah I was blown away by how fast it went. I was a little nervous since I had already gave my notice at work! That is cool about your knife, if it is in bad shape it might be best to learn on something that isn't too dull. Also If you want I can put an edge on it for you and then you can maintain that edge. It is always easier to maintain than to try and start from scratch. No different than anything else when learning you want to start with an easy task otherwise it is easy to get overwhelmed. Thank You for your support!

I think the video needs a snappier name.

One suggestion (which might inspire better ideas) "Beyond Razor Sharp: how to sharpen damn near anything"

How about it, does anyone else have any suggestions for a different title? How about some ideals for some stretch goals!

I like Paul's suggestion for a title. I do, indeed, desire to sharpen damn near anything! My mentors have made it a point of harping on me: "Learn everything you can, from everyone you can.", and I've certainly learned a lot about making and maintaining knives in the last few years. A little surprised my next "lesson" came about courtesy of permaculture; but I was more than willing to spent some capital to help out a fellow knifemaker. Glad to see it's funded, let's see some awesome stretch goals before time runs out!

Idea for a stretch goal - a short video on how to salvage old and mangled blades? - regrinding bevels etc before honing them.

I will try to cover that along with the belt sharpener I use for when a blade is long past due for a sharpening. But for most people it would be best to send that knife off to a knife maker and have it reworked and then maintain it.

No problem, I thought he might do a giveaway. If he would like to just let me know! I hope he gets some good use out of them. I hope to someday come visit and would love to teach a class on sharpening. Figured the Ants would like the DVD as well.
