paypal seems to be down

I cannot log in.  I tried to log in yesterday to do the digital market payouts, but got an error.

This is with chrome.

I went to chromium.  Same problem.

I went to firefox.  Same problem (although the message changed)

What can you do about it?

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

I noticed that nobody bought stuff yesterday via paypal - just stripe.

When we had ths big internet outage the other day, the media was relying heavily on downdetector.

But, for some reason it keeps kicking me out of the usa site and redirects to the local version.   The address for PayPal usa should be https://downdetector.com/status/paypal/  downdetector seems to be user generator for the most part.

I just successfully logged in to my account.

I was able to get to paypal and also to DownDetector. But there were some reports today..see attached img

I upgraded my chrome.  No diff.

I tried to ask paypal ai chat for help.  It suggested that once i get to the login screen to use "forgot password" - i tried to explain that i cannot get to the login screen.

After a while it said something about clearing my browser cookies and cache ...   which will make no difference on the other two browsers (chromium and firefox) which are starting off with first time visits to paypal.

It sounds like there are a lot of people having problems, but there are a lot of people not having problems also.

updated chrome, no change.  Bounced chrome.  No change.  Which makes sense because the other two browsers are having the same problem.

Bounced my o/s (it has been running non-stop for several weeks).  

Now it works.

I will leave this at a dollar for a few more hours cuz i said i would.  Plus, I would still like to get verification that paypal is working with the digital market.

Working for me - paypal uses a hybrid of Google Cloud (GCP), Amazon (AWS) and their own private datacenters to support availability. Guessing you might be getting directed AWS' way since they're having yet another outage.

I just purchased the webinar via Paypal, no issues. My VPN says I'm in the USA though I'm not.

There has been chit chat on my OS list about a security upgrade to the Dovecot server software that just came through and broke older versions. No idea of specifics, just thinking if it was an OS thing, Dovecot might be integrated into Paypal or Mint somewhere?

I am having the same issues on all of my pc browsers, paypal is working on phone tho
