Hello all, I'm one of the gappers living here at base camp. I moved up here in July. Life around base camp keeps me real busy, but I try to take some pictures every now and then of life around here and what myself and other are up to. Here's the first round and expect more in the future

On the bent tree --- I'm assuming that the tree was bent over in a heavy snow. Often, people run around their forest in the spring and cut down everything like this for firewood. The tree may come down on it's own or it may recover and produce a severely bent log. These logs make great archways.

I like the title of the thread.

Richard and I dug a trench through one of the berms behind the shop today to drain the growing lake that was forming in the parking lot.

Sofia and I cleaned the shop on Friday to get ready for movie night. Now we have a recliner down there too and the seating is by the mass for the batch box RMH system.

I went and got some sawdust for the 10x10 wofati today

This is one scoop from the massive loader that filled the truck. Three scoops was over 5 tons. The sawdust was probably a little wetter than normal though.

That sawmill looks like a great thing to have nearby! Is the sawdust free?
How about the "slats" that they trim off of logs to square them up?

Yeah, it is useful having a mill nearby for this purpose. The sawdust isn't free, but at about $30 a ton it is fairly inexpensive. We haven't looked into getting anything else from them that a know of. Once our sawmill is running more regularly, we'll be getting sawdust and scraps from that I hope.

Last week, before the snow hit, Jesse and I were working bring down trees for the sawmill

Jesse and I did more work on the hill today bringing down logs for the sawmill. (Now with snow!)

Maybe an eave edge even, that is a nice shape for an roof eave, if it is long enough anyway.

In the first summer, 2013, Paul bought a pan for gold panning. I can't recall who tried it - maybe Jesse Biggs? Nothing.

We're getting ready to paint to new solar panel framework that Tim and Rick built for the leviathan. Rick was sick last week so we had to put it on hold.

So I'm down in the shop tonight keeping the batch box loaded so the it's warm enough to paint in the morning i thought I'd post some pictures.

Tim and I install a new pedestal mount for the hand crank that will raise and lower the solar array. Tim made it and I painted it.
