Why there is no sound in the 4 dvds about RMH?

Thanks for all the job Ernie and Erica, I enjoy the new book, and I can read it!

But I cannnot listen to the 4 dvds I had also bought...

Someone cann tell me if this is just because I am obsolete for MP4?
What can I do?
I am not good about this sort of technologies...

Hi Xisca,

I assume you are playing the DVDs on a computer, correct?
Have you tried to play a different DVD, like a store bought movie?
If you have played a different DVD and it has sound, then immediately put in one of these DVDs and there is no sound, we can attempt further troubleshooting.

Sorry about my tecnical knowledge!
This is NOT a DVD, I have downloaded the MP4....

So yes I do try to read it with my computer.
I have only the image...

What is your computer's operating system? Just a wild guess, but the audio problem could be due to a setting for the sound card (check the hardware settings for sound), or possibly a missing codec needed for playing MP4?

Baought it this summer but had no time until recently to even try to open it...

oops, I do not even know what is called operating system...
I have a small PB laptop with windows7 starter.

Those files were created with a popular video viewer called VLC. You should be able to download and run it on any platform. They were up for just a couple of days and then we converted the files to a smaller format that could be opened by more stuff.

So you can have the larger video that can be played by most things, or we can figure out how to get you the new, smaller video that can be played by more things.

My computer is slow even when I am not connected to Internet.
And a youtube video can be a nerves test of patience!
(may be 1 day I find how to get the old one repaired, but i am in "Africa" here!)

So whatever is easy, better.

Downloading and using VLC would probably take 1% of the time to download all new videos.

I am still trying to do it... With google search I had links and had to update other things (websites tell you what is out of date, update media player 12.2 etc etc) ... and finally try to download VLC from softonic site, and the result was a black screen on my computer!

I am back on the web and looking for a more serious link....

I actually warn against softonic site, as I had the problem also when I try to update my windows media player.
Black screen, need to put the computer off and start it again.
Hope this does not do any damage to the computer!

(until now, windows media player was my only installed player)

I have VLC now, from videoLan website, and they are the ones who developped VLC, so that was the best choice.
I was confused by the address of softonic, as it seemed to be the VLC site (vlc-media-player...etc)

I have tried to open "fire science"
and I have sound!!!

As a foreigner, I must say that the sound is not great for understanding,
I would say the difference between a studio CD and a live concert!!!
And Erica is the easiest to understand.
(And I say again how I like the new book of E&E!)

And now I am looking for where is the part where I can look at the building, putting bricks, cutting the oil drum, making cob etc!
For this I do not even need the sound!
