OK - I have to admit that I've done some paper marbling before as a kid because my mother is a watercolorist and the two are somewhat similar. Alas, I never got the beautiful creations this guy does.

That's beautiful.
I've always had a major thing for the endpapers in old books
I went through quite a marbling phase as a youngster-everything that could be, was.
Marbling is definitely not a 'more is better' thing, especially when done with cheap, low-quality materials

I've never tried marbling....I've always been fascinated by the end paper patterns in old books although I've never seen anything like those in the video....I'll probably be peeking in every old book at the thrift store now

I'm wondering if natural dyes would work too? Except that they might be less vivid.

I imagine they would....I don't know anything about the materials used in marbling. Are they oil based dyes on the surface of water or water based on another surface? Natural dyes/pigments can do most anything that their chemical counterparts can do. It is in the preparation. I don't have any first hand experience except with dye baths but I did a bit of research to try to see about silk screen paints and resists and also just how to make dry pigments from natural dyes, etc. A fun area and it opens up all sorts of color possibilities.
I am guessing, but I bet all of the materials for marbling could be adapted to something user friendly (that I would be comfortable dumping down my sink to the garden).....

I have no idea what is happening here... But it's beautiful!! I don't know what "marbeling" is. Is that water they are putting the paint onto/into?
