In october of last year our buddy Olivier launched a kickstarter for a DVD to be made of two condensed PDCs in a cold climate. The kickstarter was successfully funded (largely thanks to you amazing permies) and now it is available for order!

Here is a little teaser/trailer:

From their website:

"Filmed entirely on location in the beautiful hills of central Vermont, this educational documentary series offers an opportunity to join students as they learn to become permaculture designers and practitioners during an applied Permaculture Design Course hosted by Whole Systems Design LLC. Condensing the contents of two separate 10-day courses, the Permaculture Skills film series is an invitation to share in the experience and learn from a combination of academic teaching, practical field work and hands-on workshops."

You can click here to read about what kinds of content will be in the film.

You can click here or here to see two extensive lists of recommended reading to consume before/along with/after watching this film.

You can click here to read a bit more about the instructors of this particular pdc.

So if you like what ya see, go ahead and CLICK HERE to buy the DVD!

I think its important to know that the DVD had to be of three dvd's, but since Olivier had so much material they've decided to upgrade it to a 4DVD set!!!
yes 4 dvd's!!!
great stuff, Olivier already gave us proof of his great passion and skill with the permaculture orchard, and now he shares this promising dvd set with great teachers

Anyone else have connection issues to their site? I was able to read the FAQ last night, but since then keep getting # 500 Internal Server Error for any of their pages. The DVD's look like they should be great, not sure how I missed the kickstarter.

Yes there seems to be something up, I emailed Olivier to see what's going on.

That is right, our server suffered a power outage and is now back and running.

Streaming Kickstarter backers have started receiving their access information to watch the videos online! We're sending them in batches throughout the day! ‪

Streaming Pre-orders are coming along and soon we will be shipping the physical DVD sets. So keep checking our facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/permacultureskills as we are updating almost in real time !

Started watching the videos in streaming, great work, perfect filming, and great presentations by Ben Falk, this is going to be a hit this year.
I'll write a review when I've finished watching all of it. bit I can already say the strength of films and videos is enormous in sharing knowledge. The whole crew on this project has done an excellent job.
If you haven't brought the film think about it, it's worth every cent. We could think of group viewing the dvd set.
The really nice thing then is that every section is accompanied by a reading suggestion. So you are guided through a vision that is at 360° its not only videos its reading and strengthening our knowledge.

Finished viewing dvd 1, great teachers, great knowledge, loved Sean Dembrosky's chapter! The film is organized so the viewer passes from hands on/field sections to more theoretic class sections, and it really works well.
so far I'm liking it a lot.

I purchased streaming access, ie, not a Kickstarter supporter. When will it be available?

I can't wait for my dvds to arrive. I tried to stream one of the first parts last night (16 minutes) and it took me over 35 minutes with it freezing and re-buffering because we can only get lousy Internet service here.

Try deactivating the HD streaming, will help you still get access to the content with your slow internet. Will take few more days for the DVD sets to ship, but we are getting really close !

The project is now live. Shipping has started, we are still experiencing some delays with EU customs, but it shouldn't be long before we can ship everywhere.

Meanwhile, the team at Possible Media is already working on a new exciting project.

Here is a little sneak peek.

And here a brand new thread about it on Permies : The Market Gardener's Toolkit

Are you kidding me? I watched the trailer, I went on the website, and I felt like it would cost like $300 to $500. It's only $60!!! Holy smokes. This is AMAZING.

I'm ordering it and am so excited!!!

I hearby bestow a rating of 8 out of 10 acorns for this set of DVD's.

Permaculture Skills is a great introduction to many of the skills that could be taught at a PDC. I personally really enjoyed the segments with Ben Faulk explaining how they've created an abundance of life on they're homestead, and how things really took off after they introduced the sheep into the equation. Overall a great set of instructors, and very well put together. We routinely watch sections of the discs as a family and the younger kids really like the intro and lead out music. Dancing around like wild, and laughing it's hillarious! Great fun for the entire family and uber educational to boot.
