If you have ever wanted to get your hands and feet into some
cob, or you have been wanting to come out to
Wheaton Labs, now is your chance to do both! There is a bunch of cob work to do for the Allerton Abbey face lift, and we need lots of helping hands, feet, fingers and smiling faces to make it all happen. We will also be doing some
straw bale infill for the walls of Allerton Abbey, so this is also your chance to try your hand at building with straw. Ernie and Erica were just here for a week to teach us the ways of straw and cob, but we are still learning, so we can all learn together.
You can come and camp on my plot and see what it is like to live in the Ant Village. This is a work party, but we can also make it a fun gathering where we get to meet and hang out with other permies, and spend some time livin' out in the woods. I've been enjoying playing music a lot lately, so I could even put on a show or two in the evenings. I will be hosting anyone who comes to help work on the cob
project as my gappers, so you won't have to pay the
gapper fee to Paul. I will provide some snacks and refreshments while we are working, and make sure everyone has plenty of
water, but unfortunately I can't afford to provide meals. There will be kitchen facilities available.
This offer is open for the next month, or until we finish the Allerton Abbey project. If you are interested in coming out, please send me a purple moosage and I can make arrangements for you.
