Where do you get your cheese making supplies? Rennet, cultures, forums, presses, kits, you name it.

Let's make this a great big thread of cheesemaking supply shopping.

makecheese.ca is a Canadian company. I ordered some rennet and cheese molds from them. It was shipped out a few hours later and arrived the next day. Very impressed. However, I didn't read the instructions on the liquid rennet. It's double strength, so 1/2 teaspoon does 2 gallons. I make 1-gallon batches, and use 1/4 dose of rennet... so measuring out .15cc of liquid is a bit challenging - but thankfully not impossible with the use of an insulin syringe.

UrbanCheesecraft etsy store. I bought their motza kit and it's great for making quick cheese with guests. I'm not terribly fond of the vegetarian rennet, as I don't know if it's GMO or not. But the rennet works well for both quick cheeses and more natural style of cheese making.

http://www.glengarrycheesemaking.on.ca/ I found them very helpful with decent prices and quick shipping. They're about an hour from Montreal or Ottawa, just east of Corwall. I made some good mozzarella but stopped due to the difficulty of finding mild that wasn't UHPasturised. I know of a few artisan cheesemakers who use them.

In the US, I've ordered things from http://www.cheesemaking.com/ in Western Massachusetts. I once asked them some obscure question and they sent a detailed and helpful answer.

Greetings, Good to see people interested in cheese making.

Our rennet we get ether in Carson City, Nv or on the net. The cultures we've recently from the net. We don't use kits. We've a press that I made, nothing fancy, Dutch type.Lately we've been using veggy rennet, no particular reason, I've used and like both types.

What cheese do you make? Do you grow your own culture.
