Can we have a "My Topics" link up at the top of the page?

I honestly go to "My Topics" a lot, to update them or review them, etc. Currently, it takes a lot of clicks to get to it. I have to click "My Profile" then "My Public Profile" and then finally "Topics created." We have a hotlink in the header for "My Posts," but I honestly never use it, but I use "My Topics" a lot. Almost every time I visit permies, I go to My Topics, and think, "This is really annoying, I should make a suggestion for a hotlink at the top, and if they can do it, that'd be great... and if they can't, well, I wouldn't be any worse off!" and then I think, "No I'm not going to bother them with this, it's just a few clicks. Suck it up, Nicole, and don't be a whiny pants."

Well, I guess today my whiny nature won out...or something! I have no idea if it's possible or if it's a giant hassle, but a "My Topics" link would be really handy. I'm thinking I'm probably not the only one who would use it a lot. But maybe I am. Maybe I'm both weird and whiny. If so, feel free to ignore this post in it's entirety! .

Wow I didn't even know you could do that, if nothing else, thanks for describing the route to get a list of topics you started. That is a helpful thing to know. It would be nice if there was a link at the top to easily get to.

As for being whiny, nah you are making a suggestion. I lot of great things come out of people making a suggestion. Now if your idea gets shot down for some reason and you start complaining then maybe you would be whining, but as is your just offering a suggestion you think might help folks out. Nothing wrong with that.

Hi Nicole;

I'm sure the powers that be don't mind getting requests when they are written so sweetly.  In the meantime, maybe if you bookmark all of your topics, then you could just click on My Bookmarks and Watches, and they would show up there. It might tide you over until we find out if a My Topics hotlink is something that could be implemented.

Tracy, can you tell me how to "bookmark" a topic?  I just tried to do that on another thread.  I got a new window but there was nothing to click. So I went to my bookmarks and watches and there is nothing.  I thought over the last year that I had marked thing to watch.

Hi Anne;

When you click the Bookmark button at the bottom of the thread, in the pop up window there is an 'Insert' button. When this pop up window opens for me, the Insert button is not visible, and I have to scroll down, or expand the window before I can see it. But it's there. Just click the Insert button it should work.

Try it again and let me know how it goes!

There is no "Insert" button.  I have tried three different topics including this one.  It looks like I am supposed to scroll down but when I try I get an arrow.  I can't scroll.  I am only seeing the three lines with the last one saying "Is Publicly Visible"  I even tried saying yes to that and it didn't do anything.

Duh ... I figured it out.  It was too simple.  I just needed to maximize the screed.  Then the insert button is showing.  I never use that feature so I didn't think to do that.

Morning came much too soon and it brought along a friend named Margarita Hangover, and a tiny ad.
