This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEP curriculum.  Completing this BB is part of getting the straw badge in textiles.

In this project, you will make a bolster pillow.

Make your own (matching) Piping

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
 - make a bolster pillow that is at least 4-inches in diameter and 15" long
 - use piping in a coordinating or matching color or fabric

To document your completion of the BB, provide proof of the following as pictures or a video (less than two minutes):
 - the fabric you're starting with
 - sewing
 - stuffing
 - the finished pillow - at least 15" long, preferably with a ruler or tape measure visible

Here is my submission for the Textiles - Straw - Make a Bolster Pillow BB.

To document the completion of the BB, I have provided the following:
- the fabric you're starting with
- sewing your cushion
- stuffing material and process
- the finished project

My parents love garage sales (which they are missing!) and thrift stores so when they found a matching pair of upholstered ottomans, they called to see if I wanted them.  I said sure.  Dismantling an ottoman produced fabric, matching piping, foam, dacron (likely polyester), wheels, and plywood.

I only used the fabric and the piping from the ottoman!  I also had or purchased buttons to cover, cotton twine, and alpaca seconds (for stuffing).

I used the cotton twine to gather the poof ends of the pillow and to attach the buttons to each other.

My pillow is made from upcycled cotton curtains and stuffed with wool.

Sewed the piping the the ends of my rectangle then sewed it into a loop (lraving a hole in the center for turning and stuffing) basted the circles on then ends then sewed them tight to the piping. Stuffed the pillow and sewed the hole up.
