For this BB, I wove a cotton hand towel on a table loom. I chose to weave it as a twill gamp, rotating three different twill threadings and a 8 different treadlings, rotating the colors in the warp.

My loom, tools and equipment, and my yarns.

Measuring the warp.

Threading the loom.

Weaving the hand towel.

Wet finishing.

Finished hand towel on a handy wall hook.

Finished dimensions, 16 inches wide and 21.25 inches long.

I used my poster board loom for the weft-faced textile project. I've detailed its simple construction in a previous bb submission.  It worked well enough, but about 3/4 of the way through weaving, my kids stepped on it and bent it, which cause me some frustration with keeping the warp threads tight enough. But I engineered a fire-poker-tightener and finished before the loom gave out.

I used cotton yarn and thread for this project. Using a handmade heddle and shuttle, I did a plain Jane over-under weave.

Any idea how well such a textile will hold up? Should I probably only hand wash it?
