Our very own Paul Wheaton will be speaking at the 2023 Self Reliance Festival, Mar 25 & 26th in Camden, TN!

He'll be discussing  the use of passive, natural, and efficient building techniques in the form of the Wofati. The Self Reliance Festival gives you an opportunity to build resilience and connect with people who understand that practical preparedness and homesteading serve as a foundation for long-term stability.

The Fifth Self Reliance Festival  welcomes great speakers and demonstrators to help concerned people learn how to build resilience into their life through homesteading, reasoned prepping, and financial literacy.

Unlike many other preparedness expos and festivals, SRF focuses on building personal stability through business ownership, transforming your home into a productive homestead (no matter where one lives), and tangible steps people can take to master new skills.

The lineup of fantastic speakers have skills in tactical defense, business start up and marketing, emergency medical, practical preparedness, food preservation, homesteading, and more.

I’m in the SE now, arrived yesterday and will be in the area for at least a month or two. I’ve been considering going to this event. I have not priced it out or checked into camping options but I know there are some.

I’d love to go. I just don’t know if it’s in the cards for me.

Hmm.

I'm there! I want to camp but they don't allow dogs, so I'll probably just commute.

I'm going! Excited to meet some permies IRL

Agreed Saralee - i wonder if they'll allow us access to the footage generated, as part of our ticket purchase (they offer a digital viewing ticket for the same price, so maybe not..?)

I will be there!  It’s 40 minutes from my place so I will be commuting.

Unfortunately, my overalls are at the tailor’s so I won’t match Paul.

I remember seeing this pic get snapped! Probably crossed paths with others of you even more closely at some point.

PTJ can't come quickly enough now that i've had the experience of getting to discuss this stuff and learn from some of y'alls' great experiences in person.

Had a great time and learned so very much. Even things I already knew I learned more about. So many wonderful people it one place. Even met some fellow ham radio folks. The facility was terrific also. There was a lot to learn from John's homestead. Thanks to Paul for posting it on permies or I would never known about it. Will definitely be there next time. No one really said but I gather they hold the festival twice a year. In October also I think. Paul gave a great talk. I think the folks there could have listened to him all day
