It would be nice to have links on that page describing pie, what it is, and how I could get some more so I can get the cards.

Until we have that, I sent you some pie.

Thought I would try this with pie payment. The purchase was smooth, but the download on a mobile with slow internet is not so great. It's still downloading and the status changes every second or two. It reads 1 hour remaining, then 2, then 6, then back to 1, then 8 hours, then 0 sec remaining, back to 2 hours... If you look at the status bar, it has moved about a half inch. I guess something is downloading. May just explode. Yikes! It's just one of the things you deal with living way out in the middle of nowhere.

I was about to get excited when I saw "Download complete". When I tried to open it though, it a said " File corrupted or damaged". Size 17 MB. The complete download size is 91mb, so i didn't have enough signal strength to do much at all. I tried.

Most browsers offer plugins or extensions.  And nearly all of them have a "resumable download tool" that you can add.   I think you should try that.

Thank you Paul. I did not know that. A Google search for this has lead to some interesting (albeit, over my head) reading. I will study about this some more. I appreciate the lead. Everything I know about computers, the internet, apps... I have learned by trial and error or research in times of need.

I think the new digital feature is awesome. I hope someday I'll be up to speed (technically) enough to enjoy the benefits.

Very smooth transaction with PayPal. Still downloading. When I buy with PayPal I usually have open PP in a new tab and logout. With the video I was already logged out, with this I had to logout. Not sure what the difference was. Download time started at 16m, went to over an hour then back to,now 14m. Maybe I will get to see them yet tonite! Thanks

On the Paypal payment page, there was a broken image above the payment section that said Permies. Then, when I selected the location to save it to, I realized I already had the permaculture playing cards PDF but I added a 2 to the end of the filename and downloaded it anyhow. I guess it must have been a bonus with the new rocket mass heater videos or something. Anyhow, the file opened with no problem and no, I don't want my $3 back. LOL

Slightly confused... after funding the PDC+ATC kickstarter, I received an email from "gir bot" at permies, which said it's programmed to give me access to the permaculture playing cards e-book download. It said to go through a link which led here. It seems this thread gives options to buy the playing cards ebook via paypal or pie, but it isn't apparent how this relates to receiving it as a bonus from the kickstarter. Any suggestions?

Aside #1... the playing cards e-book isn't a big deal, but I'm concerned there might be a similar problem getting to the PDC live stream on Monday?
Aside #2... if this isn't working because I'm checking too soon, that's fine. I suspect you're very busy getting everything together for the PDC.

Yes Paul, I was logged in.

I see the same thing when I look at the thread with Tim Barker's PDC notes... though I'm not sure whether that candy is supposed to be working yet.
On a good note, the live stream works well.

I am looking at the list of all the people that currently have access to the product provided in this thread.  I see your name in this list.  I have verified that the user number for you is the same as the user number in the list with your name.  If you go to the first post of this thread (on page 1, because our discussion is now on page 2) you should see a download link highlighted in "periwinkle".

Could you please send me a screen shot that shows you are logged in and it shows all of the first post?  If this is a bug in our system, I really want to get to the bottom of it quickly.

Good news or bad news Paul... you decide...
When I return to the page now it works correctly and I can't duplicate the problem.
So now I have a freshly downloaded copy, and you have a working site. Hopefully.

Thanks for your help...
...and may your never suffer race conditions or intermittent errors.

So pleased to get this since it's way too expensive to ship the cards to NZ. I'm just printing it off now and am looking forward to browsing through the pages and searching for the hidden names. I'm sure it will be appreciated by wwoofers too. Thanks.

from email

Please help.  Is there a way to get a page with 4 copies of the decorated side of the cards?  It would help with creating a printed set of cards having the decorated side on each card.

So rather than buy a deck of cards, you would like to take the ebook and print four cards per page - am i close?

Yes I am trying to print.  At the time I ordered the ebook I was not aware that I could have simply bought the cards!

The physical cards are here https://richsoil.com/cards.jsp

As for printing from the ebook - we never thought anybody would want that.  We just thought some people would like to read the stuff on the cards.

Hi, Paul, looks like the last post on this thread was 6 years ago (2017) so I just wanted to say thanks for the freebie permie playing cards ebook.  Love your ordering by suit and level within suit.  I'm using them like flashcards to learn 52 interesting tidbits of permie knowledge and wisdom.  Adding many recommended plants to my fruit guilds and food forest.  I'm especially thankful for the info on mulberries being compatible with black walnut.  I have a couple of lonely old black walnuts on the west side of my barn that I'm sure will appreciate some company.

Update 5/7/23:  Guess I missed the 2nd page of comments.  There are some more recent than 2017.

Well, I bought the physical playing cards several years ago and now, while waiting to have access to freebies I'm interested in, I find I have a virtual copy now. 😄

Flashcards is a good idea. I was wondering what I'd do with this freebie, but the fact they are larger than the cards I bought would make for excellent flashcards.

That makes sense. The writing on the cards is pretty small for my eyes.
