BRK Day 66

I spent most of the morning building some temporary gates and peeling logs at the Abby.

After noon me and Scott cut some new paths in the hugels to make more garden space accessible

Yesterday morning I mulched all the now accessible garden in the back paddock and cut a bit more path.

After lunch we loaded the trailer with hugel wood then did some more log peeling

BRK Day 68

Busy weekend...

Construction, or the beginnings of it is moving along nicely on the structure.
Gave lots of water to my plants, and found lots more alfalfa coming up on the sun scoop

Cool log carrier!  Why doesn't it work?  If the log is slipping out when you're dragging, maybe make the chain longer so you can twist it once before picking it up.  That way the chain will wrap around the log fully and pull tighter as you lift.

Thanks Mike! It works fine once you get it into the air, but you have to pick up the end to get the rope under. The claw type is definitely the winner in that department

The picking up bit is especially tricky with a freshly peeled wet log. Slippery!

BRK Day 70 (woot!)

Yesterday Fred and I did a couple water runs in the morning, and I helped Josiah with some wing wall repair on the Abbey after lunch.
