Hello. It took a few tries to alter all the bad words, and so you should have something now with the bad word not in it. Is there something else wrong?
I think the post in question was discussing genetic modification, which is a cider press topic.
I think we are currently waiting for a decision on whether this particular modification should be moderated in the same way as full GMO, which has a legal definition that probably doesn't quite cover this technique. It is probably still not quite the sort of thing we're trying to encourage on permies though.
Cutting out 'bad words' isn't the issue, and won't cut it with the moderation.
I suspect the ultimate answer will be that it's a cider press topic so will have to wait until you are qualified to post there.
Yes, I suppose it is discussing genetic modification. I was wondering what tools/methods are discussed here. Landracing is one tool. To me, this is also a means of editing a genome.
What I am looking at, is the possibility of producing a camelina to be seeded in the fall, so that it finishes flowering before any GM canola grown in my area starts flowering.
I used to work at a research nuclear reactor, and various topics involving radiation and genetics were things I have read up on. I see that IAEA has a 171 page PDF (TexDoc 781) from 1993 on Mutation breeding of oil seed crops.
Just like the idea of having a purple status for something.
I couldn't resist posting this short music video... almost like it was made for this moment.

I really liked the question your post made. But alas, GMO is a troll magnet. You could post part of your question now and when you have enough apples to post in the cider press, you could post the full question there. Looking at your first few posts, I suspect it won't be long before you earn enough apples.

What's " /dev/null" ?
The cider press is a reward for people who prove themselves worthy.
Before the cider press, anything even a bit controversial was instantly removed. Now we have a special place for people who are able to discuss these topics in a nice way. Although the BE NICE rule applies double there which means some people loose apples - thus the cider press.
/dev/null is the bitbucket on UN*X type operating systems. It is a fictional device which will absorb any amount of output on writing, and if you try to read from it, it immediately returns end of file.
Quite often you might know that a certain program will give output to STDOUT or STDERR, and so you could redirect that output to /dev/null so that it isn't seen.
From what I can see of your question, you might try asking it over here: http://alanbishop.proboards.com That forum is full of plant breeding folks, some of whom are involved in quite technical stuff, and many of whom also post here.
About the Cider press topic moderation; I found it annoying at first too, but the more I'm on permies the more I appreciate it; pemies is so much more pleasant then other forums that allow open discussion on these topics.
