The question: when using a temp email addy, is there a “spam folder” I don’t know about?

Back story: The other day I tried to sign up for the dailyish from mobile phone, logged out, created a temp email address. Clicked on the first “freebie” on the list, entered temp email address. Nothing happened. No email, no notification, just silence.

Bug, or?

Copied and pasted from one of the providers:

In a nutshell, temporary email is an email address that you used for a short period and then discard. Note that I said email address. The key difference here between a regular email address and temporary email address is that you are not just deleting an email, you are throwing away an entire email address.

That's a really wide range of possible emails.  There are thousands of ways to do temporary emails - some involve making new emails, others involve altering old ones temporarily... lots of possibilities.

To be able to troubleshoot, I would need to know more about what style YOU are using.

Somewhat related: a very easy way to generate temporary email addresses is to use a service like SharkLasers (aka Guerilla Mail)

Edit: I got BB code confused with markdown and messed up the link a few times.

Sorry to have been so vague with my question.

When testing the sign up for the dailyish, after one submits the email address, this message pops up:

check your spam folder (if it is there, please mark it as "not spam")
check your trash folder (some systems have a wacky filter set up)

So, when using temp email, how do we know if it “went to spam folder”?
