For the last week or so every time I go to your site from one of the emails, 90% of the time it's so slow to load that the browser times out. It never will load no matter how many tries. This happens in any browser and everything else is running normal speed.

I've been reading the threads I'm interested in via the Wayback Machine and that loads lightning fast.

Are there server problems on your end or is it something else?

Thanks

That's odd!  Thanks for bringing it to our attention.  Let me do some digging, but its likely someone who knows more than me will jump on this thread and make some sense of it.

Thanks!

Of course, now that I mention it it's working fine for the moment so there may be no indicator of what happened.

Memories of being a mechanic and trying to solve intermittent problems... which are the most difficult and annoying variety.

The only time I have that problem is on pages that have a lot of large-sized pictures.

Usually, most pictures don't cause a problem.

I don't recall having that problem with some of the links from the dailyish.

I use an old desktop computer on slow satellite internet.

I too have experienced slow loading pages. I just assumed the site was having trouble in general, some bandwidth issue or something. It does not seem to be any sort of pattern for me.

A curious problem! I haven't noticed any issues (decent Internet connection and beater Linux laptops).

I've had intermittent issues with slow loading, although I hadn't noticed that loading from emails was slower than from within the site - I'll watch for that.

I *have* noticed the intermittent part though - sometimes it seems totally normal. Hopefully people who know about these things will look into it!
