I'm just starting to notice that this is a regular thing both on my pc and tablet and it seems to be related to threads that have a lot of photos.  I'm working from the 'recent topics' list in regular view, NOT mobile.

When I click on the small icon below the last person to post's name, if the thread has a lot of photos it (sometimes) lands me somewhere several posts above that last person's post....and, also if there are a lot of photos, when I click on the thread title, it does not (always) take me to the 'last one read' but somewhere random below that.

Just now I noticed that when I used report to ask for someone to be given an apple the page did not land at that post as it used to after the report was done, but went somewhere close to the top of the page...I thought that was (sometimes) happening before and this time I'm more certain.

firefox on both pc and tablet....windows 10 and 8.1.

Your browser can automatically scroll the page up or down as pictures get 'loaded' from internet. You would see it happening more often if you have a slow internet connection.

Thank you Devaka...the connection is not super slow but probably on the slow side compared to many.

That would explain things

I've been having several similar issues like this for months.  But I've thought it was only me.

Some issues are:
When clicking on the little square next to the last posters name on the main forum page, it sometimes lands me in a weird place on the thread.    Sometimes it seems to take me to the first page of a multi page thread.

Other times when I click on a link from an email it drops me midway up the page.  Seems to be worse on threads with lots of images, especially Coco's boot camp thread. https://permies.com/t/117678

I've also had this with staff comment emails.  So I click on the link and end up in some random place in the thread and have to scroll up and down to find the comment.  In both email link cases when I close the browser tab and click the link again, it takes me to the same incorrect spot.

I'm on a laptop running Windows 10 and Firefox...
