'like' notification won't go away until the liked post is opened?

Seems like originally when the bell on the upper right side of the screen notified us of someone 'liking' one of our posts it would go away after clicking on the bell to see what it says.  Now, I'm noticing that it keeps notifying me until I actually go to the post that was liked.  

It's a very small issue in the scheme of things I know

Hmm, mine still goes away when I click on the like icon.  I'm on firefox on a PC too.

I, too, am still seeing the bell go dark once I click on it.  (Chrome/Win10)

NOW the bell is going dark when I click on it....

For the past two? days it has not been though...I would click on it, it would go dark and then after browsing around a bit and going back to 'recent topics' at some point it would light up again and it would be the same post 'liked' and that would continue until I went to the post 'liked'........I think it happened only on my PC and not on my tablet although I switch back and forth over the day.

I tried an experiment and I think I've figured this out......I always open recent topics first and then open a thread and then use the back arrow to go back to the list.  So if I don't look at the bell until I've opened another topic when I go back to recent topics it's still there....it disappears when I actually look at it but then is still on the cached page.  I can make it happen several times in a row....that must have been what I was doing.

This is still happening so I'm trying to explain the scenario better in case it matters

I'm on my PC using firefox (it happens slightly differently on my tablet) and I open 'recent topics', click on the lit up 'like' bell and it goes dark, click on a topic, read it, go back to 'recent topics' and the bell is lit up again...click on it and it goes away.  Open another topic, read it, back arrow to recent topics and the bell is lit up again and with the same 'like'.  The light does go out when I open it but comes back repeatedly when I go back to that page.

Since the light goes out while I'm in 'recent topics' it seems like it would stay out when I go back there even if its a cached page?

...tiny, tiny thing...just curious mostly.

With mine, the bell with the number stays there until it reaches 20.  Then it starts over ... like 21 will be 1.

It has always been this way for me.

The ones that I have not looked at are highlighted in yellow.  The ones I looked at are highlighted in white.
