Hi all,

I often add URLs to my posts once they are already written. I do this by highlighting the text I want to use as a link (for example, "I found this post about a related topic") and then use the URL button.

What I expect to happen is that a prompt will appear, asking me for the link. This is what you get, followed by a prompt for the link text, when you press the button without highlighting anything. What actually happens is that it wraps the highlighted text with the url BBcode tags.

Does anyone else feel that it would be better to show a prompt? I can't imagine it being technically difficult to implement.

The thing you're describing has also always bugged me.

As a coder, I also have to think that's a pretty minor (not costly) enhancement, unless there's some crazy gotcha (which there sometimes is).

I'm glad (but not surprised) that it's not just me. I'm also a programmer by profession (Monday-Thursday; Friday-Sunday I grow kale )
