Hi everyone,

I’m new to the forum and just wanted to say hello 👋

I’ve been working with food forests and low-input systems for a while now, but I’m always looking to expand my ideas and get inspired by what other people are doing on the ground.

So I’m curious - what’s been growing really well for you so far this year?

Any surprises, standout performers, or crops that have just absolutely thrived with minimal effort? I’m especially interested in anything that’s doing well in low-input or more resilient setups, but I’d love to hear whatever’s working in your gardens right now.

Looking forward to learning from everyone here.

This year it has rain 3 or 4 days out of each week.

The grass is growing like weeds, the rose bush has taken off without any roses or deer eating it, and the dog now at 5 1/2 months weights 12 pounds.

Tomatoes are the standout for me this year. Put in some Sungold and a couple of paste types and they've just gone mental, barely kept up with the staking. Also having a really good year with runner beans which is unusual because they normally sulk if it gets too hot here. Think the slightly cooler start to summer suited them.

I think I'm turning Japanese. I really think so. This tiny ad thinks so too:
