I’m southwest of Portland in Amity, OR if you would like to play with a Rocket Kiln and meet some pottery folks.  Happy to be a stopover and provide hospitality.

I'm in Washington County, OR, and would love to join the potluck. Is the date/location set yet (looks kinda' in flux)? How do I reserve a spot?

We call our place Healing Ponds. We are a couple in our seventies that had a retail store in Beaverton, A fireplace patio, and even a farm store.ePaul came and spoke when he did his bus tour years ago
Though the first time I met Paul was when Sepp Holzer came to the States and was in Oregon and Washington, that inspired me to get an excavator and put in Hugel beds

We have a forty-acre farm with a mix of pasture and forest. We raise goats, cows, sheep, ducks, turkeys, geese, and rabbits.
We have greenhouses and gardens, fruit and nut trees, and berries

WE have campsites and rooms available
It is called Healing Ponds because we do healing work
We have a house full of alternative health equipment, a mild hyperbaric chamber, two pemf devices, browns gas machines, sauna, a red light device, etc
That is all just support for what our passion is. I discovered at eighteen that I possessed healing abilities. No, I do not do Reicki
I run energy out of my hands and, combined with my counseling skills, work with people all over the world, and have ones that come here every two weeks to have my wife and my wife help them
My wife is a dear soul and plays singing bowls, does past life regressions, Dream work, and hugging sessions, and helps me in my work

I don't know the details yet, but please reach out if you're interested in attending. We have had as many as twenty people stay overnight, most camping, some in our rooms

A bit south of Portland in Silverton, in Willamette Valley is the spectacular OREGON GARDEN, with specimens of plants one doesnt see  often such as rare evergreens, Kousa dogwood, goumi tree and Vitex chasteberry. On the grounds there is a beautiful house by Frank LLoyd Wright. Also along the botany lines is the Hoyt Arboretum in that WA Park complex near Portand which has a 35' California Bay Laurel that reeks of cinnamon. Frederick Law Olmstead famous landscape archicect designed a lot of that complex. (Wild along the coast one can find wild Oregon Myrtle tho not all are fragrant.) In SE Portland one can hike trails between Oaks Amusement Park which has puttputt and Rides next door to a really spectacular Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge full of migrating birds particularly in winter and big heron rookery in spring, next door to good Willamette river access for swimming and rental kayaks at Sellwood Riverfront. There is also Crystal Spring Rhododendron Garden and trails, also Reed College has trails along their creek. Portland is full of extinct volcanoes turned into parks like Mount Tabor and Rocky Butte. If all this seems too crowded for a quiet nature walk, try Elk Rock Island.

If there is interest I can bring perennial kale cuttings. The one I have a lot of, the leaves are green with white edges and fairly ornamental, also delicious.
They live through a Portland winter (should live in your truly passive greenhouse, Paul).

Two questions -
1) Where would one rsvp if interested and in the area Sept 6/7?
2) Do you know any amateur radio club/groups near that area that are meeting any time around that week end?

Julia I think lots of people would love a kale cutting.  Still hoping to make at least one of the events.  Possibly even willing to drive up north for the Mon. one if that's the day my husband ends up having off, I love options.

You need to check out the Oregon Garden and talk to the hort team. I can get one guest in and a free tram ride (15 minute ride) (usual 10-15 bucks each) or try calling them. The 6th is free for Silverton residents so it's going to be crowded and they'll have lots of little kid presentations and activities. Felted scarf making, sound baths. Be patient. They aren't great phone people. Tabitha is who you should ask for. 503-874-4294. The Oregon Garden is located in Silverton on scenic Cascade Highway (213) 12 miles from Salem.  The views of fields and pastures are amazing. You should also contact Geercrest Farm. 1 mile south of OG. They are on Hipcamp and have pull in spots, a treehouse, and other accommodations.

I mentioned the Oregon Garden to Paul but it's also about 15 miles from Silver Falls which has a 7 mile hike around  several waterfalls. FYI.

This is my first post to the Permies forum. I've been a fan of Paul's work for many years, but I haven't had a chance to be involved in any events thus far due to my busy work schedule. I am just posting here to say that I will be attending the potluck at Mark's farm on Sunday the 7th since I live 30 min away. I'm planning on bringing my wife and 1 year old daughter. Looking forward to it!
