Hooray!!!  The neighbor's cow tested out A2-A2 !!!   YES,YES ,YES ! No more driving 60 miles one way for milk. My plan on making A-2 cheese just got much more affordable! $10.00 gal in idaho $4.00 a gal 15 minutes from home ! I can get milk straight from the cow, cold for drinking and making butter or not refrigerated just for making cheese  !!! A-2 Cheddar cheese is in our future !  Of course this milk is purchased to feed our animals... can't sell raw milk for human consumption in montana...  Luckily our piggys & kittys like us so maybe ... they will share their milk with us!

Howdy Richard; We are ecstatic to find milk so close to home and at a good price to boot ! I have it arranged to be at the farm 6:30 every monday for 2 gal straight from the cow milk, so there is much cheese making happening !  I made my first batch of A2 A2 cheddar cheese today ! Going to be hard waiting 60 days for it to age.

While it is illegal to sell for straight consumption it is usually legal to sell for cheese making... Check your local legislation of coarse.

I am soooo envious! That stuff is hard to find in the US. My understanding is that the test is about $70 and most cows are going to not be pure, so it is not worth is because only a small percentage of people even know what that is. I can drink A2 by the quart and have no problems but the US milk just wrecks me.

Hi Tj;   A-2 A-2 is becoming more well known in the us. Had a friend living in rapid city SD who found it at the safeway store !!!  I've looked at every main stream grocery chain here in the NW with no luck.   Sadly my farmer neighbor decided to retire... moved away and sold all the cows out of state... he offered me the A-2 cow 1/2 bred but I was just not able to commit to miking every day.  I can still get fresh raw A-2 in north Idaho, 60 miles away for $10.00 a gal . We do buy it as its the only milk my wife can consume and for me it means I still get good cooking with milk and butter !  I am in a never ending search to find another A-2 cow closer to home.  As a side note we have "discovered" goat butter...  sold nationally at heath food stores, it is every bit as good as any cow butter !

A2 milk is being advertised on the tv here.... I have drank goat milk for the past 10 or so years and when I got a lovely little jersey last year I thought I would sell the goats... Well... Peaches had her calf in feb and her milk is good... But I like the goat milk better.... I only make butter and yogurt so far but when I retire my job or get help with things here I'd love to try my hand at making some hard cheeses...

There is a dairy that sells at the Gainesville farmers market that has A2 milk. Really professional operation.

Isn't A2 milk basically a scam? There's an funny consumer affairs program in Australia called The Checkout which exposes misleading products, including an episode on A2 milk.

The one A2 milk company here was found to have no scientific evidence whatsoever to back up their claims. Their claims of the effectiveness of A2 milk were based on a 'study' of a handful of employees of the company who found their employers' milk was awesome and competitor milk was bad.

Here's a youtube link to The Checkout's investigation of A2 milk.

Some people believe it is a scam.  I believe that it tests out with an extra casein.  I know that my wife has an immediate reaction to eating any A-1 milk product and has for years....   I know that now she can eat all the A-2 dairy products (a-2 cow/ goat/ sheep) that she and I like with no adverse effects at all.    I do not think it is a scam.

The Checkout isn't an amateur internet program; it's a program run by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia's only fully government-owned and most trustworthy television station.

Perhaps A2 milk is a bit like a gluten-free equivalent of the liquid world. Some think gluten intolerance is real while others don't.

I will try to present this with as much tact and grace as possible. I’m fully believe it’s not an amateur internet program, and is a colloquium made by trained professionals with videography skills, a healthy budget and have access to quality video editing.

I’m a skeptic at heart, and won’t believe information at face value, and question everything. The fact that the Australian Broadcasting Corporation is government owned means nothing to me, and actually makes me incredulous to the claim it’s “most trustworthy”.

In America, and all over the world, television is a tool used by the powers that be to influence, persuade, dissuade, and spread propaganda, half-truths and downright lies. Television news outlets are especially guilty of only broadcasting information the masses are supposed to be told.

I’m not trying to start an argument or debate here. I’m just raising en eyebrow of suspicion when someone is claiming a gov’t run tv station and its programs as trustworthy.

The Checkout is actually a sceptical show pointing out the holes and flaws in mainstream commercial products and companies. Eg. how paying for Apple's additional warranties are completely useless in Australia as our consumer laws already guarantee better protection, how expensive chlorophyl tablets from vitamin companies are completely useless for humans, etc. We don't get this sort of information on commercial channels, that was my point.
