Hello Laura!
I'm building a greywater system with an inline vermifilter.
I think I might be able to downsize the 1 1/2" pipe to garden hose size after this filter.
Is this a good idea,or should I keep the system size consistent throughout?

great subject    we have bought a house with 2 graywater systems both just leading to dry wells  interested in how to improve  
one handles the washer the other the sump pump and fiber wash and dye room

Welcome Laura,
I've been quiet here for ages as we are looking to move house soon and hoping to try and install a small grey water system in a cabin in the garden, it would mostly be for hand washing and the like. I'll be looking to here for guidance on the best tiny scale system soon I hope!

I'm super stoked about this book.  I'm hoping it will give me advice on connecting grey water sources to my existing drip system without having to disconnect the drip system from the municipal water supply.  

I'm hoping to get a gray water system from my bath tub to under some avocado trees, too - those suckers use like 25 gallons/day each, so there's no way I'll plant them until a free source of water is in place.

Hey Laura.  Did you happen to touch on Tom Watsons work in your book?  Twenty some years ago I worked with him on a project in N.M.  We consulted on a project in Alamos, Sonora Mexico.  About 8 years ago I installed a Watson wick on my farm.  Overplanted it with black walnut seeds and Nanking cherries.  The trees now supply shade, nuts and fruit for my pigs.

Hello Laura, thanks for offering your time here! I've seen some graywater systems that seem to rely on a dryer climate to give organisms time to break up accumulated wastes. Does your book offer tweaks for a wetter area like the PNW where there's much heavier rainfall?
