I'm still not brave enough to grow mushrooms outside due to potential unwanted mycellia. But these kit grown oyster mushrooms are doing fantastically well for us.

They are a cross between Pleurotus eryngii and ostreatus (king & grey oyster mushrooms) apparently.

They look like some sort of art installation Ac!

I found these in the tree field this week. I thought they might be candlesnuff but that seems to grow on wood, whereas this was growing out of the ground. It also is quite large - about 4 to 5 inches long.

Nancy, that mushroom could be some kind of coral mushroom, such as Ramariopsis kunzei, which is found on islands off the Scottish Coast:

Aren't they gorgeous? Also, delicious. I've soaked the block in rainwater, hoping we might get a second flush.
