Just checking in if it looks like the SEPP program might be back by late June... Or maybe I have a better chance at a bootcamp spot maybe? Looking forward to the kickstarter book and candy!

Hi Mike, thanks for your patience with us! Yes, the Love Shack is available June 23 - 30th.

And yes, currently, it looks like we will have room in the bootcamp program if you wish to continue after the 25th or 30th.
In the bootcamp program, there is learning through hard work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., though food staples are provided and self-maintained lodging is available (if not rented out otherwise).

Ah, I just sent out rental prices to our PEP1 attendees, and now see that I need to adjust the pricing here a bit. The Love Shack will still start at $135 for 3 nights, though I'm going to edit the first post to be $25 for each additional night.

So a June 23 - 25 stay would be $135 (if arriving on the 23rd and departing on the morning of the 26th for a 3 night stay).
If staying the nights of June 23rd through June 30th (not sure if departing the morning of the 30th or July 1st?) - 7 nights would be $135 plus $100 = $235.

Our wheaton labs PDC is happening from June 16th through 29th, so we could be a bit limited on what we could offer that week. For example, we would not be able to give you the full tour (of both base camp and the lab) until Sunday, June 30th.

I think what would work best for me is to rent the Love Shack for a week and be a half-day boot camp participant - is that possible? I just don't know if I would burn out doing 8+ hours every day (I guess depending on nature of the work).

There is some flexibility in my timing so it seems maybe it is better to come as a newbie after the PDC is over.  Now I am thinking starting from July 2 to July 9 (7 nights) so could you check if Love Shack is free on those days?  Alternatively, I would probably be good with camping a few of the days.

Lastly I wanted to confirm - should I use sepper at richsoil.com on paypal to send the fees?  After your next reply I should be ready to send money for reservation.

I think half days could be ARE possible, and smart of you to know you might have limits! I wrote "could" because it depends on the work happening that week. I think it's 90% likely. I'll get Fred's thoughts on it and will update here tomorrow. Update:  Paul replied that it's the design of the SEPPer program that you are welcome to participate if you wish! Though we just can't predict what the projects might be.

Oh gosh, I was answering so specifically to the dates you provided, that I didn't note that we also have the wheaton labs ATC July 1st through 12th! I think getting you a tour, or arranging other activities beyond the bootcamp could be a challenge during either event, otherwise, I think it should be fine to have you here then. Plus, the Love Shack is not booked yet for either event.

Yes, I confirmed that that e-mail still works for SEPPer payments.

I sent the amount for 6 nights starting June 30  I am hoping that I could get a tour if possible on that day since it seems that's the only day between the PDC and ATC where someone might be available?  Even a half tour would help.

Oh YAY! Yes, monies were received - thank you!

So, 6 nights in the Love Shack, arriving Sunday, June 30, departing Saturday, July 6th. We'll add a tour on the 30th and I'm sure there will be others who appreciate it! To fit everything in the tour starts promptly at 9:30 a.m.

I noticed in a recent Kickstarter post that "Red Cabin is the only rental with good internet".  Just wondering can you give an idea of how good/bad the wifi is in the love shack and if there is some public space in another building - maybe a study or library or such - as an alternative for a few hours or so in the afternoon/evening. Or maybe I guess outside I could improvise a standing desk...  And just checking, would the red cabin happen to be available on my chosen June 30-July 6 dates for the extra coin?  

And would you happen to know how good reception for Verizon is at base camp (love shack or in general) - I could use my mobile hot-spot as another option if reception is OK.

Good questions!

Verizon is excellent at base camp. There is a cell tower just 2 miles down the road from us.

Unfortunately, the red cabin is not available those dates, sorry.

The loveshack is too far up the driveway for our wifi to reach. There is the possibility of some desk space in our "library" which is next to the Fisher Price House. Though the desks (and one couch!) are shared, in a shared open space, and we'll be asking folks to clear their desks when done as you do in a public library. During the ATC (and other classes or events), a desk is likely more available during the day-time classroom time, because there could be some stiff competition in the evenings.  There are a table and benches outside, between the library and the Fisher Price House as well.

There are several internet upgrades we need for basecamp.  And this would make it so that internet would work for the love shack.

Nicole directed me here regarding "camping" a few days at WL. I need to stay in a small RV and would probably like to join the common table for most dinners at least.

From what Nicole said, I paypal Paul a camping fee and each meal would be additional. Possibly defray meal price with contribution of food or labor.

So, What are the specifics of meal prices and how do i pay on site?

Regarding parking the RV, would that be in short walking distance to the dinner table or would I need to drive from your other location to make it to dinner? Or is there lots of shuttles to dinner?

Ah, and what paypal address do i use for the initial fee?

Hmmm, I don't know if anyone has paid to join in on dinners there before. Usually SEPPer's just bring their own food, I think. But since I'm not at Wheaton Labs, I'm not sure. I'm thinking they usually buy food for the people who are currently residing there, so adding in more mouths to the table can sometimes be hard, especially at last minute.

I'll see if I can get Paul to take a look at your questions--he usually checks the forums in the morning, though, so he might not reply until tomorrow (the man is buried in emails every day!)

I'm not positive here, but I'm thinking usually RVs park in "Arakis," which doesn't seem too far from Fisher Price house where people eat?

RV would be the camping fee.  No plug in and no generators.  Batter only - although solar stuff is okay.  

Food:  work in the bootcamp for half a day, and join the boots for a meal.  Work for a full day and join the boots for three meals.

Got it. I'll check tomorrow when i get back in signal.

Mostly sounds good. I would be happy to get provisions, but it would help to get a list from the head cook so I can get stuff that segs into the WL system. Possibly from preferred suppliers.  I can take orders and I know some kivhen work and would be glad to chop&stir but a cook I'm not. So getting in supplies and helping out some would be my preferred contribution if that will carry my weight.
