My windows really needed some TLC. Between a dog and 3 young kids, they get touched, smudged and even covered in stickers.
There are 5 windows pictured here. I didn’t know if the glass sliding door counted as one window or two so I did an extra one just in case
The cleaner I used was a water/vinegar mix. And I used a rag to get wet, a dry rag and a norwex polishing rag. (My favorite norwex rag of all time!)

For my house at least because the house is mostly/fully heated by passive and active solar and I can lose as much as a third of the heat to just messy windows.  It is a comfort issue.  It is possible to wash half a window and feel the difference on my face just moving side to side in the sun.

  • After: Four Clean Windows!

  • For this BB, I cleaned four windows, inside and out.

    Cleaning Solution:
I used a homemade glass cleaner made from warm water and citric acid. I mixed two tablespoons of citric acid to 22 oz of warm water ... giving it a 1 : 22 ratio
(citric acid : water), with a range of 3% - 5% solution, great for general cleaning ... The citric acid helped cut through dirt and grime without using commercial chemicals.

    Documentation:

Before: Photo showing four dirty windows

Action 1: Photo of my glass cleaner (warm water + citric acid) with description

Action 2: Photo of me cleaning the windows, including both outside and inside work

After: Photo showing four clean windows

This completed the requirement of cleaning four windows on both sides using a simple, natural cleaning solution.
