We're having a droughty Spring around here so I set up a bee watering spot using the bottom of a broken chimenea. I added broken terracotta, rocks and sticks and then some shells and flowers to make it a little easier on the eyes. A quick and simple way to support our insect cousins.

Just to make sure I cover all the bases, to show that I have completed this Badge Bit, I must:
- post a picture of the materials for the watering station
- post a picture of the watering station under construction
- post a picture of the completed bee/insect watering station with water

See pics below with descriptions.

Thanks!

Jim

Material: During a recent wind storm, a kiddie pool blew into my black walnut ditch. And pretty much got filled with rain water. I dumped it.

Material and start of construction: My rat terrier Nugget helped me move it to its new home, on top of an old horseshoe bed at the back of my back yard.

Under construction: I dug it in, leveled the dirt I moved to support plants that emerge and from seed, and framed it with urbanite.

Proximity to hives: From here, you can see it is a good bit away from my beehives, so they should use it to drink. If they don't, I'm sure other bees will.
