I made a two portable watering/bait station to find wild hives. I located three different hives that I hope to welcome to the homestead before winter.

Note: Need a photo of the under construction process (and ideally the materials, but we can probably infer that from what's here.)

Today I made two bee/insect watering station. I used sticks, old plant stalks, small rocks from around the yard, and some rocks from the UP, and I put them in a couple of deep plates.

The previous owners renovated the kitchen and left the old sink out in the flower beds as a planter. We dug it up and moved it to a new spot. I then buried it and turned it into an insect watering station. If we get another hot dry summer, I may add some sort of water tank to keep it filled. I also had trouble keeping the water in after I added the rocks because they kept breaking the seal on the plugs the holes and these took quite a bit of shifting to keep the seal.

Finished filling it up. Added flowers for prettiness. There shouldn't be any deep pockets anymore.

Kiddo and I got this one done! We make pottery out of wild clay and this mug didn't quite fire hot enough in the new fire pit set up so we decided to use it. Its in a zone 0 area and will slowly water the plants around it plus it wont stagnate cause its always slightly leaking. We did this a couple of days ago and the kiddo now makes a point of checking on it every day to water the ants. He really likes ants lately.
