Good morning! Hello Inge! Yes, we do have that plant growing on the hugelkultur berms right across from the Library at Basecamp! I didn't know that was one of its uses. Over here, I have heard it referred to as "Ice Plant," and its numerous flowers typically attract a lot of pollinators here.
Day 101
This is a look at the books in the Library at Basecamp.
These are some of the plants growing indoors in the Fisher Price House.
I might have to resort to just uploading short 5-10 second clips, because it's starting to take more and more bad blurry photos to get the decent photos that I think are not as blurry. I might need to try some extensive cleaning on my phone to see if that helps.
We started the day in two groups. Fred, Jen, Bella, Jaqi, and I went out to the woods to get logs for fence posts, retaining wall parts, Bermshed stuff, and junkpoles. Jen and I split off to go haul logs off the mountains that we had not taken down yet, and Fred, Bella, and Jaqi were out felling trees. Josiah and Austin worked on the Bermshed this morning!
It was a rather misty morning, and I enjoyed how nice it looked!
When Jen and I went to go meet up with teh rest of our party, we saw a rather majestic view of Montana mountains!
I really love the autumn colors, the mist, and all of the mountains!
And I think it's even more wonderful to have the sunlight cracking through the clouds, shining down into the valley!
This is Jaqi felling a tree!
I saw some wonderful moss and lichens on one of the trees that was felled today!
And I think that this iridescent red insect is gorgeous!
I really enjoyed the view where we were out working!
I saw
Gert with her kittens this afternoon as we walked up to have lunch!
I also liked the view from Basecamp this afternoon, too!
A lot of stuff happened this afternoon that we needed to take care at the Lab that required the utmost urgency this afternoon. It was kind of a hectic scramble.
It was pretty busy! Here's a quick clip I took of the view where we were working hard to get things sorted out and fixed ASAP!
Even with the crazy that we mostly fixed this afternoon (and late into the evening, there was still a rainbow, which I thought was lovely to see!
