secret inner circle forum

Awesome the next group will be added in a week or so.

The Kickstarter survey went out last week. Anyone who updated their e-mails to match between permies and Kickstarter by the reports generated on 5/17 were added to the secret inner circle tonight, 5/19.

I do hope you will do it again once the videos are out.

I contributed to so many kickstarters that I lost track of all the updates. I just went today to see when the videos will be out and I saw the updates.
For some reason, kickstarter is connected to my Facebook account and that email is my "spam email" account. (All these updates from Facebook driving me crazy) so I never get the updates from kickstarter.
I now corrected the error and created a rule in gmail for it to forward me the kickstarter emails directly to my real account.

Nonetheless, I didn't have the same email here until now (changed it) and I would love access to the secret forums.

So, please run the algorythm again, maybe when the videos are available?

Why have a secret form, If you have Knowledge to share, you should share it with everyone.

If people really like this forum then they will donate without receiving something in return.

I think there are times that a person might want to talk about something and not have that something on public record - or found on google. Maybe about relationships. Maybe about a product or resource where you don't want your concerns to be public.

It is an opportunity for discretion.

And sometimes people want to share something, but not with everyone.

Just because you wish for your life to be an open book does not mean that everybody else feels the same way.

I just joined the forum now and I also missed the 72 hours to download the podcasts That were included in the kickstarter. I didn't see the emails allowing me access for 72 hours till today. I didn't even think to see if we would get them early since the DVDs are not due till June. Is there any hope that I can get access to the podcasts. I am just starting to convert my yard to a food forest and I would love to hear the older podcasts.

Hugo and Kate - you both should have access to the secret inner circle forum now.

Oops. I wasn't very clear, sorry. On the main forums page, look for the secret inner circle forum near the bottom. There is a thread in there about the PODS and it will have instructions on how we'll catch up (one last time) with those who want them.

I got a kickstarter-related email yesterday, inviting me to watch the three world domination videos on Vimeo, and asking me to provide technical feedback. I started viewing two of the three (swales and hugelkulture), but the other video was unavailable.

I am posting my technical feedback here, because I have only just right now created a permies account, and I am denied access to the inner circle forum where the feedback is supposed to get posted. (So my first-ever permaculture post is to talk about technical issues. Ah, the internet.)

So, on the first page of this thread (note that there are 4 pages) Paul's second post was this:

We were able to offer this as a reward at a very low cost because we could do this one time. We cannot afford to give any individual support for this.

We've (I've) actually added people to the secret inner circle more than twice already. There were at least two Kickstarter messages prior to yesterday's Vimeo message (that only went to some folks as a test) reminding folks about the secret inner circle forum. The last add was for people who had set up a permies account (and their permies account e-mail matched their kickstarter e-mail) by the time we ran reports on 6/1.

I'm going to repeat Carolyn's excellent post from page 2 of this thread.

- You contributed $5 or more to the World Domination Gardening kickstarter
- You must actually have signed up for a Permies account.

Once you're "in" then you can change your Permies or Kickstarter email back to not-matching each other and it won't kick you out. The emails only have to match during the add-in.

Thank you, Jocelyn, for the prompt reply. I do understand why I don't have access to the inner circle (as I did not follow through at the right time), and so I wasn't complaining... just trying to be helpful and find someplace to post the feedback I was asked to provide as one of the 20 testers, along with an explanation of why I ended up here instead of there. (TBH I am not convinced that I deserve access to a private forum for doing nothing more than donating money to a kickstarter, nor would I have much to contribute yet, which is why I let the invitation expire.)

I talked to Jocelyn - she'll try to manually add you later today.

Further, Sam is processing the streaming access and it sounds like he may have fixed your access to the third DVD. Are you still having problems with that?

Perhaps my wording ("denied access"!!) struck a nerve, if so then unintentionally, as I was only reporting my experience, not blaming. But if a special effort is being made to get me added to that forum at this late date, then I will accept with thanks and participate in whatever way I can.

Nearly everybody on this end is an unpaid volunteer (Jocelyn is a good example). They are doing this stuff for .... well .... I'm not sure why. I think Jocelyn has done a first class job here, so if somebody suggests anything to the contrary, I want to clear that up.

I too had been under the wrong assumption that I had a matching permies account. I do not have access to the inner forum. I also have not received a link to the videos for streaming. Will I be able to access either of these or is all lost at this point... Due to my inattention?

A quick check shows that you paid $12 and selected the reward where you get "thanks" and 120 podcasts. So it is a bit odd to hear you ask for a link to the streaming version.

Of course, there is still more candy coming: everybody who supported the kickstarter will get the hugelkultur micro documentary, which is not yet out.

At this point, I cannot guarantee access to the secret inner circle forum. It would be entirely if Jocelyn chooses to do you such a favor. Once in, the same applies to Sam about getting you access to the 120 podcasts.

We made it so those things were really cheap because we could process them in one big batch. We ended up reminding people through kickstarter five times - so I don't feel like we're screwing anybody.

I understand Paul... A quick search on my em shows no notices from Kickstarter. I had downloaded the podcasts but got some corrupt zips. It's been so long I forgot what level the streaming was at.... Intended to get to the level of streaming. It's all my fault for not staying on top of that. Looking forward to the knife sharpening videos... Maybe I got that right... Thanks for all you do.... Welp, here i am expecting nothing, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. My family and I moved at the end of last year and it's been crazy since so I'm guess I missed something here.
My permie email is the same as my kickstarter email. Today I tried clicking on a link and was denied access to the secret inner forum (which i have trouble finding for some reason). I haven't submitted my vimeo info (not sure if that's in the secret inner circle) and would still like to see the awesome micro documentary as I was just a basic $1 supporter this time.
I'm sorry to trouble you. I have no complaints because you all do an amazing amount of work. Thank you for everything.

It was the $5 and up supporters who were added to the secret inner circle forum. The mini-documentary isn't quite complete yet and won't be through Vimeo.

I contributed $65 for the 3 DVD streaming, received the Email with downloads of the podcasts, but don't have access to the Secret Inner Forum. Likewise, don't have access to streaming DVDs. Can someone help?

Dan, I show your e-mail didn't match/wasn't found in permies in late May, so you must have updated it. I've added you now. I also show there was no reply to the Kickstarter survey. In the secret inner circle forum is a thread about streaming version of WDG access. Post there and Sam should be able to help.

Hi Tcon, I added you to the secret inner circle forum. In that forum is a thread about obtaining access to the streaming DVDs. (There was no download available through the kickstarter.)

Maybe I should get a prize for being the latest person not to pay attention to emails. I also need access to the gardening videos and, is there any chance that I could still get the podcasts? Thanks for any help you can give.

We did a lot of things with the idea that they could be done "en masse" and not one at a time. By doing them one at a time it would be far too expensive.

We will definitely make sure that you get the videos (access to the micro doc will be in your email). We definitely cannot do the podcasts. It is possible that Jocelyn will still add you to the inner circle forum - I leave that to jocelyn.

Sam has the day off today, so he will probably get to your regular videos tomorrow morning sometime. If you don't have access by the end of the day, please let me know.

Then one day I thought, "Didn't I back that Paul Wheaton thing? I wonder if that is done yet??"
