Count me as another backer that didn't have a permies account until today. I'll live without the secret forum, but if I get in, that would be nice too.

We will run the algorithm again in a few weeks. After we have run the algorithm, you will then be able to see the secret inner circle forum.

I doubt I belong in an inner circle, but it's a bummer to lose privileges for this kind of glitch.

I suppose the good news is that more than 444 people were on both lists.

Make sure they match now, and in a few weeks you should be able to see the forum.

If you supported our recent kickstarter for $5 or more and your permies.com email address is the same as your kickstarter email address, then you will gain access in a few weeks.

I received the Kicktarter update saying that 444 people who contributed at least $5 and whose emails matched were granted access to the secret inner circle forum. Well, I contributed $5 and I only have one email address, so I should be on that list. Unfortunately, The only reference to "secret inner circle forum" I see is here. What do I do next?

Kathleen, if your access is there, then you will see it at the bottom of the same group that this subject is in. I'll repost the link from one of the previous posts too - Secret Inner Circle - I hope that helps.

Rene, Paul says up above that "they" (I'm assuming the Secret Minion Army) will be running another comparison run in a few weeks and that should add folks who thought they had aligned their Kickstarter address with the one here, as well as those who thought, like you, that they were on Permies because they were receiving the Daily-ish Email list.

Kathleen,

It took me some work .... definitely more than $5 worth of my time ....

When you supported this kickstarter you put in $5, but you selected "no reward". So I think it makes sense that you don't have access.

Jocelyn,

the next time that we grab the supporter spreadsheets, could you please include the "no reward" people in the list of email addresses to feed to "the algorithm"?

We will make another attempt in a few weeks.

We have do download about 15 spreadsheets, mash them all together, extract the proper email addresses and feed them into "the algorithm".

Color me embarrassed, because, no, Sir, I did not read your post since it was not specifically addressed to me. Of course, had I been keeping up with the entire thread, I would have seen that you are going to re-submit addresses mid-month. Please accept my sincere apologies.

I think I didn't get this ' inner circle ' thing right either.

It's kinda like that old computer game 'Myst' which I also failed at.

Hopefully I did things right and soon I will be a member of the 'inner circle' too.

If not, at least I will get the Earthworks and the

I didn't realize my email didn't match and missed this round. I've changed it now. Hoping it works when they rerun it. If not it's my own fault.

Not sure why I am having problems getting access to the secret forms. I have received 2 emails from you inviting me to join (I supported a few of your promoted Kickstarters and one of them came along with this invite).
Anyway, each time click on your link, I am told I do not have access.
My email is the same as that used in Kickstarter.

Janna,

This took me some research, but i figured it out: You created your account here today. We rand the algorithm several days ago. If your account here had already been created, you would now have access. As is, you will need to wait until we run the algorithm again.

I received an email with the PODS, but I am unable to get into the inner circle forum where I can ask a question. I'll ask it here. All of the PODS are in zip downloadable files. Will they ever be online for those of us who do not want to have to download them? I didn't know I'd have to do that. My computer is temperamental and doesn't like it when I download too much.

Thanks,
Tracy

2 questions on the Kickstarter stuff:

1. I also just registered at this site with my kickstarted email... I didn't know to do that before you ran the algorithm but trust the 2nd run of the algorithm will pick me up

2. I got the link for the podcasts based on my donation amount, but I'm traveling and don't have the bandwidth to download them until 3/12 - but the link says they'll expire in 72 hrs... what to do?

Hi Paul and other permies,

I, like others, didn't realise I didn't have a permies account (thought it was connected to the daily email). So I just joined, can I still be added to the secret inner circle forum, please? I backed the kickstarter with this email.

Thanks again for all your work and for channelling all the information out into the world. Keep it up!

Z.

I have been in Cuba for a month getting my PDC through the Urban Farmer - it was fantastic, but I missed the initiation ritual to join the secret inner circle-no email access while I was in Cuba. How do I know when the second opportunity arises? Wait for an email? Check this forum every day?

Hi Mary (and anyone else having trouble),

First, check to see if you're already "in" the inner circle:
1. Log into your Permies account
2. Go to the main page for the Forums (www.permies.com/forums)
3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. The last forum on the page will either be Meaningless Drivel (if you're not "in"), or there will be an additional forum, Secret Inner Circle (if you're "in").

If you don't see the secret forum, then make sure that:
A. the email that you are using for Kickstarter is the same email you are using for Permies
B. your Kickstarter payment went through
C. you didn't select "no reward" as the reward.

If A and/or B aren't true, then correct them and wait until the next and final mass add-in at some unspecified (possibly even secret??) time before the end of March. If C is the problem, then you'll have to get special permission before the add-in.

Other requirements:
- You contributed $5 or more to the World Domination Gardening kickstarter
- You must actually have signed up for a Permies account.

Once you're "in" then you can change your Permies or Kickstarter email back to not-matching each other and it won't kick you out. The emails only have to match during the add-in.

Did I miss anything?

Uh oh, we're definitely being carded. Here, show him this tiny ad:
