@Leila, thank you for all of the info...right now I use a kindle to get on line...with it's purchase came "experimental browser capabilities" and wireless service. I don't read books on it (I love the paper kind) but just use it online...no sound, no videos, no ability to open links and no color but for us right now it's the appropriate technology.

@Rion, Much better now, thank you...I watched the Ken Burns Jazz series when it was on our PBS Station...really good!
I am working my way through some Keith Jarrett...starting with the Kohn Concert. I like his trio also but nothing like just straight improvised piano.

@Wyomiles...hello...and Happy Holiday's to you too!

and "Mose Alive!" I love Mose Allison! I think Bob will have to come back with some heavy metal to balance out my contributions.

...then Mississippi John Hurt "Today"...working my way up to some Janis when the sun comes up. This is one of the up sides to being sick and hanging out by the stove and the stereo and record collection.

Don't worry about the links, Judith. Keep posting the artist name and song. Either Rick or I will handle the rest. Happy New Year!

Jean-Luc Ponty/Stephane Grappelli - Violin Summit

Steppin with Stephane - The David Grisman Quintet - Live at Jazz Alley

Dizzy Gillespie and the Double Six of Paris - Hot House

Oh, and forgive me if I can't find the exact song or full album on youtube. Cheers!

Thanks, Rion and Happy New Year to you! We are working our way through some sixties Coltrane...I am totally amazed with the fact that these guys were playing this stuff at the same time my parents were watching Lawrence Welk and I was listening to teeny bop and just getting in to the Beatles and the Stones! Once I heard these in 1970 I was hooked.
"Kula Se Mama" and "Om" and "Expression"...all albums with only one or two long songs on each side.
